The answer seems very clear to me. My first idea just aint gonna happen, Put batteries in droid item storage and droid auto uses them from there. (nicest way I think but somehow not optomistic about it happening.

So, How About,,

Energy storage like harvesters and factories. The max storage could be determined by the now unused durability stat. (requires no module) This storage is charged like a harvester, only with droid batteries.
