Thread: harvesting droid please help

one person suggests: r3 adv, 4 harv modules,one combat, one storage [and 2 armor of course]
this droid has: [is this right?]
40% res
80 harv bonus
I heard droids run away without the combat mod. is this right?
I have harv4 myself, and want an uber harvester droid, but would like the storage as well , im just wondering if I need the combat module {or even the storage if replacing it with another harvest mod will make a difference}

if you sell these harvest droids on Naritus, post here with your vendor coordinates and average prices

The droids only run away if you have them grouped with you. Buy one with 6 harvest mods and go ungrouped with it. The droid will just stand in the middle of the battle and look pretty

Actually, the droid will run away when grouped with you when you get hit, or when he does get hit, grouped or not.
That's why the combat module can help, the droid will fight instead of running away.
And for the rating, with 4 modules, I have some doubt it'll reach 80.
20 per module is the theorical maximum, but even with the best resources, it's only doable with a critical success at the assembly stage.
It also depend of the server.
On mine, with best resource, without success in assembly max is about 18 per module.
That's why the combat module can help, the droid will fight instead of running away.

Also if you have a macro going tellnig it to constantly Harvest, it cuts into it's running away a lot as well.
Forget the storage compartment. Go either 6 harvesting mods or 5 with 1 combat.

i made some with one combat, and people seem to prefer them without.... you dont want it picking a fight with a mutant rancor (rancor will win) so you'd rather have it run a bit, and just hit your /tellpet follow hotkey... btw: I dont recommend using these droids around anything with an AOE state attack... it gets messy.. best bet is to have a patrol point far from your battle site, call your droid in to harvest then send it back to a safe distance.... Useful tactic when working lairs.
