Thread: Droid Pricing Spreadsheet Available Here

I had put up a reply a little while back in regards to droid pricing. I spent about 4 hours a week or so ago and made up a VERY basic spreadsheet in Excel that analyzes pricing for droids (actually could be tailored to anything). I also had been looking around on the DE Forum for ideas from other people as well to how they set up their pricing structure. I also received a lot of input in looking at the formulas from SWGCraft.com for resource harvesting. The spreadsheet takes into account cost of resources (assuming that you are doing your own harvesting, but can be easily tailored to fit outright purchasing resources), resource multipliers (to differentiate between normal resources like metal and Neutronium steel), level to make required component (simple multiplier that you can set), and potential for additional charge for factory created components (to make them silly advanced droid brains).

Now granted...it's a very functional and printable spreadsheet, but it's not set up GUI or idiot proof (mainly because the idiot who wrote it It at least lets you look at what the relative cost of your resources, time, and effort are what the finished product should be. The spreadsheet also breaks everything down into each component in exactly the same layout as SWGCraft.com had things listed on their DE skill tree. To find cost of a droid, just have to add up the cost of the droid (which includes chassis for some advanced models) and any modules/chips installed. Plain and simple. Plus lists potential income with each component.

Sound like something you would like to take a look at? Reply to this post and I'll email the spreadsheet in an attachment or drop me a private message on this board (just click my name to the left and there is a selection for private message).

I would like to thank Bantaar for reminding me of my stupidity and reminding me about how the Internet works

Made it much easier for me and the community. Link below has the Excel file. If you have any questions/problems with it, drop me a line or post here. Thanks again Bantaar.

Starmind,

Excellent spreadsheet! I was literally just about to start my own version of this, when I saw your post. Thanks so much for the hard work and for saving us all time and effort.

Bravo!

Can someone help me out please because im an idiot and maths was never my strong point.

I added up all the charges to make an Advanced Probot with two Level 4 Armor modules and it came to 7006, is that right? Im sure it should be more than 7k. If someone could check and try and point out what im missing I would be very gratefull

Alex when you were adding up the info on the Probots there is the potential for discrepancy. The way the spreadsheet is set up in basic form right now, all droids are set up equal. The General Resource multiplier and the Exclusive Resource multiplier are set at 4 and 6 respectively. This is where you have the flexibility to alter the numbers. I was basically taking that most resources sell on Lowca at around 3 credits/unit. I wanted to make sure i padded this on the high side so set the General Resource at 4. If your galaxy has higher prices, then you can increase that multiplier. Same goes for Exclusive resources if they are harder to find (or even the Exclusive Surcharge). This just gives you a base price to start with. If you have greater demand for Probots (or any other droid), feel free to increase the price to where you feel you hit equalibrium with your supply/demand. I currently charge 8k for a Standard probot and Armor Module 3. This is in reflection of the bugs currently with Probots and lack of demand.

Just remember that this spreadsheet gives you the base to look and examine costs of obtaining resources, leveling up to create that product, and creating the product. Then you can see where you stand in making decisions on your pricing. Please don't think that this spreadsheet is the bible and you have to use it completely. Change the numbers around and see how it reflects your pricing strategy. I didn't include in experimentation in the spreadsheet, which may open up another area to effect pricing strategy and product marketing.
