Thread: Duralloy on Corbantis.
Ok, so now that we've got duralloy on Corbantis, we can start building level 6 armor. I sampled enough to modify the composite plates, and then assembled an adv probot. I messed up on the final experimentation tho, and ended up with a droid that had 40% resists down the board, which is what I can do using level 3 armor.
I was wondering, if any other master de out there has had a great success using level 6 armor, and what the max resists you got was. Please tell me we aren't still limited to 40%'s. Thx!
Well, from what I read about Droid Armor. 40% is the max you ever get. It is suppost to work like this:
Armor (Droid Defensive) Modules:
These add protective armor plating onto droids. Some advanced droids (the Adv. Probot) can hold two separate armor modules. These make a huge difference in combat, and can really extend the life of your droid.
- Level I (Requires Droid Engineer Novice, 43 resources): Light Armor, 15% resistance
- Level II (Requires Droid Construction 1, 58 resources): Light Armor, 40% resistance
- Level III (Requires Droid Construction 2, 72 resources): Medium Armor, 15% resistance
- Level IV (Requires Droid Construction 3, 92 resources): Medium Armor, 40% resistance
- Level V (Requires Droid Construction 4, 100 resources): Requires 1 Composite Armor Segment from an Armorsmith with Personal Armor IV. Heavy Armor, 15% resistance
- Level VI (Requires Master Droid Engineer, 125 resources): Requires 1 Composite Armor Segment from an Armorsmith with Personal Armor IV. Heavy Armor, 40% resistance
Note: Armor makes all the difference in extending a droid during combat. Advanced Probots are maxed at a Medium 40% rating.
We are still trying to figure out exactly how it works, but it seems:
For every 100 points of damage, a droid receives: 100 * .5^ArmLevel * (100-resistance)/100
- Light 15% = 100 *.5^1 * (100-15)/100 = 42.5
- Light 40% = 100 *.5^1 * (100-40)/100 = 30
- Medium 15% = 100 * .5^2 * (100-15)/100 = 21.25
- Medium 40% = 100 * .5^2 * (100-40)/100 = 15
- Heavy 15% = 100 * .5^3 * (100-15)/100 = 10.625
- Heavy 40% = 100 * .5^3 * (100-40)/100 = 7.5
But sence droids have been hit with the Atomic Nerf Bomb, droid armor on the only fighting driod ( Probot ) does not work at all. I'm not sure if they act as No armor with 40% resist or if they act as if they had no armor and no resist.
Sence they lowered the HAM of Probots to about 800 you would think they would let them have armor. After all you can only use 1 droid at a time and a CH can have 3 Rancors.
I don't think the Probot needs to be as tough as 3 Rancors but it sure as hell should not be as weak as a baby Chub.
We can only hope that someday they come up with some fixes for Droids that make them more usable. I am working on becoming a Master DE in the hopes that buy the time I do they will have fixed droids, or that I wont have to wait so long that I give up DE and switch to some more usefull profession.
Everywhere but Tatooine (and maybe 1 other planet) has Duralloy on Corbantis
