"Due to the fact that I am an architect, and require components as a Master Artisan, I had built up enough crafting XP a couple of days ago to become a Droid Engineer. I figured it would give me something to do, while I wate for the Urban Planer. I have always known that Droid Engineers get the low-end of the stick. I often give DEs a discount on my wares. I didn't fully realize how difficult the DEs had it till I got my Novice DE!!! The only thing I can build is a mouse droid, that can either hold 1 item, hold a few data items, or be used as a VERY basic medical droid. Now, in order to get level 1 in any of the skill branches, you have to grind at least 25k of resources. Thankfully I came from being an architect so that seems like a small amount of resources. This is only because I can sell structures between 50k-100k to pay for my extractors. What I'd like to do, is compile a comprehensive list of droids, and droid usage. To think of ways to market these items, to help out the junior Droid Engineers. I know that this is probably on the DE forums, but I'm hoping to educate people on the usage of droids. I believe (at least I hope), that there are some VERY useful droids out there (other than the Adv Probot with 60% dmg resistance only capable of being made by a DE Master). If not... then I really do feel sorry for the DEs and I hope that this profession will get changed in the future. I think that there is alot of potential for this profession, and I would hate to see it die off...."

"...I'm not talking about myself. I have no problem 'dabbling' in it right now because I have the backing of being an Architect. I would like to make an effort to help out the Novice DEs that are just starting out, and want to go all the way. I can imagine the frustration at grinding for days, and days to get Engineering IV and then Novice Droid Engineer only to be able to make a mouse droid. At least as a Novice Architect you can make a house that usually sells for 10k. lol. I remember when that was alot of money. I would just like to inform people of what certain droids can actually do, to encourage the Novice DE to stick with it, and that there is a light at the end of the tunnel."

What do you guys think?

I'd like to hear what droids CAN do. I really like the ide of owning droids, but I have no idea what they're really capable of. My understanding is that they are no longer effective in combat due to perma-death and pro-bot nerfing, so what else is there?

lol. So I take it that nobody cares about the Novice DE, and everybody is only interested in complaining or power grinding to Master?

Of course we care about the novice droid engi.

The sad truth is, they have nothing to sell until they can make crafting station/higher level droids. Basically you're not a novice anymore then. (Instead you've most likely got RSI from grinding already)
