Have been playing for a few weeks now, and set my goal to becoming a Droid Engineer because that sounded interesting, and I have a hope that the devs might fix it in time for me making Master :-)

And I've now made it to Novice Droid Engineer, well I got the XP in time for the meet on Sunday (and turned up) and finally found someone to train me yesterday.

The problem I'm now having is how to actually play this... To get here I basically ran Artisan missions to earn the money to buy resources from the Bazaar, and then used those to make various things to sell untilI finally accumulated all the XP I needed.

So now I'm working out how to make a living from DE, except so far the sheer amount of money I'm going to need to outlay to build and maintain harvesters, itdoesn't seem possible to make and sell MSE droids to recoup the cost.

1440cr/day to harvest the steel and aluminium needed then another 1440cr/day to harvest the power for them, makes 2880cr/day just to get the resources. MSE Droids are only selling for 250cr on the Bazaar, so by that I'd need to sell 12 a day just to break even.

And nobody seems to be buying any!

What tips (if any) can others give to try and make a living out of this?

I don't think you can make a living very easily, not if you intend to keep running harvesters full time.

I financed my 'tuition', as I call my early novice days, with a high-quality powerup business.

Sell weapon powerups or resources. There isn't a whole lot of money in DE until you get to the higher tiers. Personally, I sold powerups and my extraenergy on the bazaar and it kept me in enough money to keep my harvestors going for grinding resources.

Yep. We don't make anything really in huge demand even as MDE's...

Most of my money comes from resource harvesting.

Or you can get rich selling resources and just forget the droids.

Seriously, I ran missions to keep personal harvesters running all the way through MDE. It's doable if you're prepared to not do much else (and it's pretty boring too).

Sorry Keybuk, but everyone here is right. Until you get higher (much higher) you won't be selling droids often at all. Resources will fund your training mostly. Eventually, you'll be able able to make Seeker and Arakyd droids, which will give you some market at least. After that, when you finish blueprints and begin working on your module lines, you'll be able to sell Crafting Station droids and Medical Droids. That will.....pretty much finish up your possible markets. Everything else is pretty rare to sell.

Sorry, but we aren't anything like Weaponsmiths or Armorsmiths. We don't actually make money off of our products until very, very late in the game.
