It's actually done this for quite some time. This was one of the chief complaints the smugglers had about droid storage not being "scannable". You could keep your sliced armor in your droid to prevent it showing up on the scans (or taking decay), then just use a hot-key to pull it out when you needed it.
In light of the fact that it won't equip your weapon or armor, I'm inclined to think it's a bug that it does this, but who knows.

Yea, it's been like this for a long long time, maybe 6 months. I like it. It lets you keep stuff in your storage droid, yet still access it if you need too. I kind of invision it like R2D2 shooting a weapon too you.

I've been using my storage droids to hold things when doing missions, so that I won't lose out on the rare/non-repeatable loot items...
Never tried it with weapons/armour.

Pardon me if this has been noticed before, but I thought this was a bit mindblowing.
You need:
A droid with an item storage module.
An emptyhotkey slot.
An item.
Steps:
1. Drag the item to your hotkey slot.
2. Store the item in the droid.
3. Store the droid. You will notice the item is still on your hotkey bar.
4. Click the hotkey.
5. The item will instantly show up in your inventory, whether the droid is out or not. <--- mindblowing part
When I tried this with a weapon, clicking the hotkey again did not equip the weapon, oddly.
Anyone else notice this? I can see how this might be useful

Thanks Mightion.
I noticed this the other night, with my spare set of buff packs, but was in the process of tracking down the Guard command issue with Probots, and completely forgot to follow on this one.
I'll report this one to my 'special source', since I'm not sure if its a feature of a bug that poped up from the radial menu issue.
