"Hello, I am C-3P0 Human Cybo..."
"Yea, I know" Grymnir interrupted
"Oh, well, Indeed. And you are?" The protocol droid replied with an unusual tone its its vocals
"Grymnir, and this is my companion, Genie"
*wrrrrrhhhh wrrrhhhh zzooonnn* the object floating slightly behind Grymnir let out a buzz and a low hum. The protocol droid took interest in the Probe droids response.
"My, such a gutteral dialect"
"Yea, one of my favorites. Genie, meet...uh... C-3L somethin-or-nother" Grymnir said, a wave to the protocol droid.
"C-3P0 sir. I am in charge of new..."
"Yea, I know who you are, I was just relaying that its not important to my friend here."
*wrrrrrhhh zooon zooon*
"My, how rude" 3P0 muttered. A bleep and bloop noise from his Astromech companion nearby replied. "Yes R2, I am quite aware of his programming signature but he did not need to be so rude about it."
"So whats the deal, sparky? Can I get in or what?" Grymnir, impatient as always and rude as his droid interrupted.
"The Princess has given me the duty of assigning new recruits with vital tasks that will accomodate your introduction into the Rebel Alliance, sir. She has given me strict order to deliver mission details and send those working for the rebellion to their task. I am merely an interpreter"
*wrrrrrhhh zoooon wrrrrhhh*
Grymnir turned his head to the side to view his Probe droid, his datapad translating the droids communication. The translation brought a smirk to the Mon Cal's face. 3P0 was obviously not too happy.
Another series of bleeps and bloops and R2-D2 responded to the Probe droid, which in turned wrrrh'd and zooon'd. It was then apparent the two droids were in full conversation and by the protocol droids response to each bleep and zooon, the two talkative droid units were speaking about 3P0. Not very nicely either.
"R2, of all the things... well, I have it in my right circuits to send commendation to the Princess to have your memory erased. Of all the... R2, the mission details please."
Grymnir let out only a slight chuckle. Through his translations he deciphered that the two talkative droids were having a conversation about 3P0 and his lack of intellectual interaction. This was apparently not true, according to the protocol droid as ech bleep and zooon that was past between the droids brought about a series of "Well I never"s and "Of all the things"s. In light of this fun conversation, however, Grymnir completely forgot why he was here.
Until the R-series Astromech brought up a quick map of the general area detailing the mission Grymnir and his floating companion were about to take.
"Recently the imperial army has been dismantling parts to our former base on Dantooine and transfering equipment off-planet. We recently discovered a shipment of materials being brought to Corellia." 3P0 explained, pointing to the holographic projection of the area outside the perimeter of the compound. "A rebel spy within the imperial detachment has given us information leading to believe an imperial general will be transfering the materials himself. The spy was able to infiltrate the shipping logs and rewrite them, directing the logs to set the shipment down about six hundred meters south of here. From there, a cargo unit was to meet the general and his cargo and carry it into the nearby Imperial compound. First, this compound does not exist. Secondly, no cargo unit is to be dispatched. We have precious little time before the general realizes he has been tricked, and thus we would ask that you carry out this mission to capture the cargo."
Grymnir did realize that signing up for any rebel missions would lead him into conflict with imperial soldiers. He never fought imperial storm troopers before and, although told how easily they fall to blaster-shot, his skill with a weapon was far from lacking. It was non-existant.
Grymnir touched one hand to the Probe droid by his side, gently caressing the droid's outer armor shell.
"This should be entertaining"
***
twenty minutes later, outside the safety of the rebel compound and mixed within the overgrowth of trees, Grymnir sat quietly near a large trunk in view of the imperial general and his storm trooper lackey's
"5 in total. 1 general, and 4 storm troopers. Those guys look like mean business. We have to strike hard and fast. Dont worry, Genie, i'll stay to your back and get right to work with my repair kits. This should be a piece of cake."
Within moments, Genie crossed the tree line and entered into the imperial base camp. Being an Arakyd Viper class droid, the Imperial units believed Genie was a sentry from the cargo unit. Never underestimate a Droid Engineer with a knack for quality. The first Storm Trooper went down within moments of Genie entering the encampment. The general grabbed for his com to send message to te cargo unit to hurry. Two more storm troopers moved to cover while the third ducked behind a crate of generators, firing towards the droid. A shot to one limb sent sparks flying, the mechanical actuator melting to the armor plate and joint control. Genie quickly rushed to the Droids side, staying well out of view of the storm troopers fire.
Another shower of sparks splew forth from the droid, a blaster mark spot on the top side, barely missing the droids sensor array. The droid moved forward, another series of blaster shots came from the mounted weapons. A storm trooper thought for a moment he had an open opportunity when the droid moved towards the generators, away from the imperials position. He jumped up and fired three quick shots to the droid, which gingerly dodges the attack and rotated 180 degrees in a split second, a spray of fire from its mounted blaster. The storm trooper was hit in the chest and the right arm, knocking him backwards and into the tent the imperials had set up minutes before.
Another blast of storm trooper fire came from the generators and more sparks flew from the droids armor. Even now, Grymnir was surveying the damage done internally to the droid, a malfunction and repair node installed transmits any internal damage to his datapad. From his vantage he could easily configure a fix for the droid, a task he learned to do quickly while in the field and even better while combat was being done. Picking up his datapad he descovered the right actuator was about to fall off, which would render one of the droid's blasters useless. Grabbing up a droid repair kit, he quickly fired the repair assembly at the droid's arm. The device had a gun shaped handle with a wide angular nozzle. Sprayed forward the device could shoot up to 10 meters away from its target. The solution was a simple metallic glue with wiring attached. On the handle of the device was a series of buttons and controls. The device was used to fire the glue assembly to its target and allow the Droid Engineer to repair the droid from a distance using fast rigged repairing and rewiring techniques.
Grymnir quickly worked on the repairs as another storm trooper came in firing, thinking to get the droid off guard.
Droid 1, Storm trooper 0
"Great Job Genie,2 left!" Grymnir shouted. By now, the general had noticed the Mon Cal sitting beside the droid hub tinkering repairs. The remaining Storm trooper shot out towards Grymnirs location, attempting a luck shot at killing the droid's master.
One thing to remember, never give a droid an easy target, thought Grymnir. The last storm trooper tumbled to the ground smoking, a series of riddled blaster pock marks across his chest.
With no more guards and a strong adversary, it was all the general could do to stop from begging.
"You are now within the custody of the rebel alliance, general. Welcome to the rebel base." Grynmir sneered.
Moments after returning to the compound and turning the general in to the captain on base, Grymnir returned outside where Genie floated happily, awaiting his masteres return.
"Man, you sure did beat those Storm troopers down, Genie. Guess I built ya right after all, huh?" Grymnir gave a smirk as his droid, Genie, wrrrrh'd and zooon'd about.

I wanted to originally post this as a message to my DE friends.
I took my 542 loaded Combat Probot out last night to hunt Stormtroopers, thinking it folley but wanting to try something different.
With Stim D's at my side, we mowed down every storm trooper we met. I have no combat skills whatsoever, I let Genie do all the firing

Very nice!
Even if in-game stormies don't go down in three hits.

Three hits from the Probot, I meant. ![]()
With mine, I can solo Sith Shadow pirates and even a mercenary, but that's if I can get them single.
