I asked this in another thread but it was mostly ignored so I'm asking the whole DE community directly.
What do you think makes a great DE so great?

For me its customer satisfaction and customizationI like to play games where I can "tinker" with the design of something. Be it a RTS that lets me build custom unit to atack with, or a game like roboarena that lets me build adesign from scratch, or if you played Tron 2.0 you could "upgrade your progaming" for your own play style. to me thes ideas are all in SWG and namely Droid Engineer. This (for me) makes it intrestingand keeps droid building "new & fun".
If you become a DE let me be the first to welcome you

guessI should look at who's posting be forIassume that its a new DE. sorry
As for what makes a "good" DE .. hmmm depends on your point of view .. one customer might say someone the stocks there vendor at all times .. or another might say some one that spends time with a customer and talors the droid to them, and so on ad so forth. soI think its depends on weather your customers think you a good DE and not so much what other DE's think
just my 2 credits ..

A Great DE is a person who keeps his vendor(s) stocked with a wide varity of droids...
He also helps out his customers in every way and acts politely so he could be representing a whole community of crafters.

Mostly, I'd have to go with knowledge of his trade. Each type of module and droid has its own little quirks, and agreat DE can stay on top of them and explain them to his customers.

Knowledge and customer service, hands down. A DE with a fully stocked vendor is just another waypoint in the datapad, a DE that can help you figure out exactly what you need and what would work best for you is much more.

This list:
Keep a good stock of droids with good quals and selection
Keep stock of droid batteries, customization kits, rpr kits, BH droids + bombs, and survey droids/tools.
Customer service, be nice help ppl use there droids...email all customers a thank you letter with a basic walkthough on how to use there droid and offer more email guides if they want them.
You do all this and you are a super DE, imho.

Everyone has had the same or similar answers as everyone else. That's a good sign for our prof. But here's one thing nobody else has said:
Knowing every profession well enough to be able to sell anyone on a droid to help them.
The more you know, the more you can earn.

Quite often that will be the first question I ask a new customer... especially the ones that are "I know nothing about droids!!" Then I can suggest to them useful droids, rather than trying to explain all the different modules.
