Hi guys,

I'm a ranger and my little droid harvests about 4% less than I do so rarely gets seen on a hunt. Now I want to buy a good droid.

Do some droids have their own inventory? One of the chokers for rangers is having lots of small quantity of hide and stuff from each planet. A droid with its own inventory would ease my inventory hugely.

Can some droids harvest more than me? Does a bonus of 108 mean 8% or 108% better harvesting? 108% better would be amazing but can't believe that possible.

If I eat veghash, I harvest 29% more. Does my droid pick up that bonus while the veghash is still working?

If a droid has a storage module build into it, then it will store the harvest itself. The maximum storage space is 10. When the storage module is filled, the harvest will go into your inventory.
But if the droid has a storage module it's rating will be reduced. It would perhaps have a rating of 90 instead of 108.

If you have harvesting skill of 100, and if I'm using the formula right , then a 108 droid will give you about an 8.7% increase. The rare max rating of 120 would give you about 10% increase.

And veghash does apply to what the droid will harvest for you.

In summary I can't have storage or a bonus but not both unless I just buy a droid for storage alone and a droid for harvesteing alone. Makes sense.

actually, a 90 rating droid would probably still give you a tiny bonus (or at the very least shouldn't be harvesting less). I think the droid will harvest as much or more than you if its rating is about 75% of your own. There is no good formula yet, and the rating is a really funky sliding percentage deal.

Well if Tarne_Monter's formula is right (and again, if I'm using it right), a 90 rating should get you about 6% increase.

The formula being...

Where: f(x) is the percentage increase you get from using the droid (i.e 1.05 means a 5% incr.)

x is the ratio of the droids creature harvesting stat and your creature harvesting stat.

I get 50-100cpu for my harvest so if a droid with a rating of 120 gets 10% more for me, then I make at least 50000 credits more money each time I get a 10000 unit bundle for a client. That would seem adaquate compensation for the hassle of managing my inventory :-)

Well you won't find a 120 one. And unless your local DE managed to get a freak craft and get a 119 the best you will probably find is maybe 108-112. Depends what your servers resources have been like.
