Thread: Droid experimentation... does anyone get success?
At novice I ALWAYS get big failures. Do you need to be master to get any success out of experimenting?
The percentage chance of failures for me has dropped considerably.
I have found, with experimentation on droids and components, that it is the same as any crafting profession. The quality of the Crafting Tool and the Quality of the Crafting Station affect the number of crits you get, and how often. Of course, the over-all starting quality of the item depends on the quality of the resources, but what kind of experimentation success you get depends on the Tools.
Being Master, I tend to get results of, at the best, 5 now. A lot of this is due to resources used, but does this have an effect on the finished product. No, with the posible effect of the crafting modules (hard to tell, since there is no cross rating system with the Architect Stations.)
Take a look at this threadthat I posted earlier. It might clear up a few of the questions here.

It's a complete waste of time of course, but is easy to succeed at. Hopefully Devs will someday fix this profession so experimenting has some kind of noticeable effect!
Agreed
"But what does experimentation actually do to the final product? Haven't seen any benefit to DE experimentation. "
Nothing... absolutely nothing.
