Thread: It's Alll About Sales
Just because you're a droid engineer doesn't mean you can't be successful. Likewise, not everyone is gonna be successful on their own. I'm a badassed businessman, I pimp my wares constantly. I realized advertising on the map was gonna be a huge key someday when people realize it's there. Above all, customer service is number one... If your factory is waiting to be reloaded and you go take care of it while a potential customer is browsing in your shop, you need to rethink your ways friend. I've worked solo from day one, have about 3/4 million credits in equipment, about 250k in parts ready to turn into droids or what not (master artisan too of course), and about 3/4 mil in cash right now. Investment is the key to growth. Several times over my characters life, I've nearly spent all my cash on equipment or resources back while training still, and within week every time I managed to just about triple what I'd spent earlier. It can be done. It amazed me everytime... I look back at what I used to sell compared to what I can make now and am amazed at what I sold. There wasn't much around better at the time, but still I found a niche in new medics and made my cash there and in selling excess resources. Hell, the first Master DE in my neighborhood used to buy tons of my excess steel while I busy selling mice, he was busy grinding frames LOL. But I still got paid.
For example, I made my biggest sale of the week in repair tools with all the added components. 4 crates of em at 1500 per tool. I guess what I'm saying is, you may choose DE, BE, or Architect for your profession, but if you don't have the business sense it doesn't matter. Here's another example. I wanted to expand, but didn't want to lose two lots settin up a new house so I got a partner on the other side of the planet. He's a chef and a cool guy, so we gave each other access to our houses and set up vendors at each others place. Now if you think DE sucks, try chef... and that's why I'm helpin my bro out as much as I can. Our agreement was so lucrative to me, that in our first week I gave my partner a chem factory. Soon as they fix vendors and their resettin every morning, I'm moving offworld on the same plan. So, there's a much bigger game going on than just making droids and killing things. The acquisition of cash for what's its worth is my current goal in the game. SWG for me is more like monopoly. If anything in here helps anyone out it will have been worth the typing.
