Thread: so we are mechanic tailors?

I'm starting togo up in the DE trees now, and just realized... we are more similar to tailors than anything else!

Why, you may ask? Well, all (or most) of the items tailors make have the same single function... looks.Wearingrobes won't give you any different benefits than a pair of shorts or a shirt.

It's almost the same with droids, there are like 10 different droid models, all of them requiring more or less resources, but in the end they all do the same: hold modules. An R5 holds one module, an MSE holds one module, etc.

If this is how the profession was intended, fine. But just seems like a waste to me to have all the different models and have them be the same thing in the end. Who would want an R5 droid with a medical module over a mouse droid with the same module?

Shouldn't different droids have really different functions/capabilities?

Have devs commented anything on this?

Another interesting take on the "tailor" philosophy is that I've lost many sales when players find out I can't change the color of the droid yet. Since the droids have little combat function, wealthy combat-class characters primarily want one as a status trinket.. I'll burst into tears the first time I get a request to match someone's R2 paintjob with their eye color.. ACK! (I'll try to oblige though.. hehe)

If we could custom color droids there would be quite a boom in sales.
