I know you'd get 5 general crafting xp every couple times someone rolled a dice you would make.

How much XP do you get when someone uses a seeker? would it be worth going at cost to try and get more people to use them?

Hmmm lets see, no one at SOE cares enough to even post on this profession's boards. Bugs take over a month to be fixed for DEs while other classes see bugs eliminated virtually overnight.

Now given that ANY other crafted item when used gives exp, you would expect that droids would do the same for builders, WRONG. Not only is there no use exp for droid builders, but when you make an R2, the final assembly does not even give you exp (just another DE bug, expect a fix Jan 2005).

So the answer is no, there is absolutely no user exp from droids, and dont expect them to actually fix that.

I would add that one thing that I do is spread low level droids all over the place in the Bazaars, typically with a level I medical module in it. I put them on for a cheap price to cover costs becauseI am not interested in making a profit on these, instead when I see a sale I send an email with a WP to that customer thanking them and inviting them to come and visit my vendor which has better droids on it.

For BH droids like seekers, I put them on the Bazaar at a higher price and then offer them via email at a lower price on my vendor.

It helps to keep your vendor well stocked, I currently have over 40 items on it and if you can include items such as batteries. If you can put your vendor in your PA hall along with others that people may have there since that BH may also decide to buy some furniture (say).

When I first started out, I put MSE on every vendor on Tatooine and Corellia and eveytime someone bought one, I sent them an e-mail thanking them and offered to send them a programing guide. It really established me as a prominent DE and I made a few friends doing so. It realy is a great way to get your name out there.

The best one that I mentioned, but didn't go into detail was going to a cantina or med center and just sit there grinding out a few droids. After you finsh 1 or 2, yell out "Free Droid to the next person to /t me". Each time that I did this, I would get that first /t and give them the droid and ask the person to maybe refer anyone to me that was in need of a Droid. This usally would result in at least one sale over the course of the next day or two and was usally the person that I gave the droid to in the first place. I still do this every few days. Instead of giving a medic or dancer a tip, I'll transfer control of a droid that I put together from left over factory parts. What ever it takes to get your name heard, in a positive light of course.

That is what I would have to say to you ReynoldsTheWrapper. I've been reading a couple of your posts, and the general impression that I have received is that you are looking for the quick road to sucess in the Profession. Let me tell you now, there isn't one. I'm not posting this to bring you down, or to make snide remarks, but the impression that I have gotten so far is that you might wish to look into a different profession. Even if you burn 15k of steel and 7k of fiberplast a day, it will still take you a few weeks to make Master. And even then, it takes a lot of time to build up a steady base of customers.

A few suggestions that I can make, if you are dedicated to being a DE are these. First, save yourself some time now, and write up at least 3 e-mails (in game) for yourself, that you can forward to anyone that has programming questions.This alone will save you huge amounts of time that would be used up explaining to a buyer on how to program and name their droid. I've got 3 that I have written up. One is the the basics of Droid programming that starts from the very first step of taming the droid. The next one tells the droid owner how to program the name of the droid and what can and can't be used as a name. Be sure to include that droids with a personality ship can not be named. And the last one, which is seldomly used, is for setting patrol commands. The next suggestion I have is not to grind for the XP, but instead to actually make finished products. The reason behind this is simple. Instead of just killing all of those helpless little MSE, give them away, or even do some planet hopping and offer them around the galaxy. The more places that you put a few droids on, the better your chance to make some profit. This can be expenisve if done improperly, but if you put a makers mark on ecah droid, you name starts getting seen. By giving them away, people will tend to come back to you, or recommend someone to you. Its free advertising, which is a DEs best friend. And finally, read up about current issues as much as you can. The more you read on this board, the more you will gain from the mistakes or successes that others have had.
