Thread: Looking to start DE.....
Well even if it isn't that good, I can always fall back on the CH and Doc in me.
I have visions of medical Probots both letting me heal well while in battle and tanking argos from me. While my 'boys' (two Creatures go after the offending things all the while I am in a group healing people)
even if I don't make more than a couple of credits a day it is more than I get for being a medic....
Pluse I have always wanted on of those driod that tried to attack Padma in attack of the clones. or one of those 'uber' driods that actually fought off Jedis in Episode one. By using sheilds that turned off only long enough to fire a bunch of guns out 
Liek a magnet it is drawing me closer........its like a drug....
I'll be candid. If you choose DE right now, you're taking a leap of faith (like me).
Probots are not good tankers right now, in my opinion. 810 HAM simply isn't enough to "tank" a pet for 2 or 3 minutes, especially mobs on the tough planets. Even if you had one with the best armor, it's still going to get rocked darn fast. 
Some say our best droid is not as good as the worst level 15 creature handlerpet, and I have a hard time disputing that statement right now.
I think there is overwhelming support within the community to give someoompf! back to the DE class, and that's why there are still a fair number of DE's holding out... reading the posts... praying... listening... watching and clinging on.
If you want instant results, fantastic wealth or power,or parity with creature handlers... DE is not for you, in my opinion. If you enjoy building things, liked the droids from the movies,like tinkering with components, have patience, enjoy mineral harvesting, and have faith, then welcome!
I have to say even though I knew this was the fubared beyond all fubared professions when I started, I still can't beleive how little has been done to this class in a positive manner.
The only positive thing imho is getting rid of the perma-death nerf.
To be honest, I am making decent credits. Nothing compared to if I just sold all the resources I mined, but I make a living. Then again, I am not a hunter so I don't have to spend a fortune on stimpaks either.
That said, DE is a VERY neglected class. The only thing we have recieved in recent patches was the removal of the perma-daeth on droids (which was the absolute most STUPID thing they ever put into the game). Probots are only good for a backup to a pet. They can stand back and shoot while the pet tanks. Other than that, we are pretty worhless unless you like droid decorations in your house.
I wouldn't say it sucks. It is fun to see that 15K droid finally sell, but you aren't going to make credits hand over fist. This is a do or die class. Stay with it until its fixed, or become a CH like everyone else.
