With the new creature handler changes, a CH will now never want a droid. They may have a use for one, but for the most part we just lost potential sales from that entire profession.

Why are non-creature handlers limited to only one "pet"?Why can't they havea droid and a faciton perk out? Adroid and a pet out? a faction perk and a pet? all three? These are points for discussion.

As I see it, the reduction of the CL to 10 will be good forour profession. However, by limiting all non-CH to only have 1 "pet" out, means that the "star warsyness" for creature handlers is still reduced. Why aren't they allowed to have a droid? of course they CAN have a droid. but with only allowing one pet out, they have almost no reason to have one at all.

A creature handler's response to another thread sparked this one, While the final comment there was a bit cynical, the point was valid, in that, CH's will hardly bebuying droids if at all.

Why should CH's buy any droids other then with a crafting station, med module, storage, data or whatever else is out there? It didn't make sense to have a combat droid up to now and won't make sense after the proposed changes.

It's a non-issue.

Why non-ch's shouldn't be able to have more than 1 mob under control? Erm....private army. If that doesn't ring a bell.....

Ain't just CH's, either. It's all faction pets, too.

Since a probot added minimal tanking and damage compared to, say, a GRAUL, it won't be missed. They'll still be in as much demand for crafting stations and storage.

I am a master CH and I can say that under the current CH system or under the one proposed tonight, I won't have a need for a combat droid. That is because my profession has always, and will always, provide my combat "pet."

However, as a Master Surgeon, my med droid is invaluable, and will be even after the proposed changes.

My point is that these changes will make me neither more, nor less likely to purchase a droid. I doubt it will reduce many other people's likelihood to buy either. But the changes have a good chance to raise your sales since non-CHs will no longer be able to use Rock Beetles and the like.

(BTW- if they make your combat droids cool enough, I'd buy one even if i didn't need it though. I'd love to have an Episode I style Battledroid )

I know many people except medics and entertainers WONT be buying droids. Who needs a worthless probot when you can only have 1 pet out. 810 ham sucks, why use it when you can have a CL10 pet with 1k to 2k ham and 100-200 attack? This doesnt fix anything, just another Massive CH/DE and General Faction Nerf

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
- I support NO DECAY.It should be run like EQ . No 20k price cap on the bazar and everyone can craft. Its has worked for 7 years on everquest and there is no decay plenty of money and no crazy prices.

Decay is only good for crafteres and bad for everyone else.

Where are you finding these CL pets with 1000-2000 HAM? I am a CH with 2-2-2-4. I am giving back my CH skills. Before I do, I need to get me a couple of non-CH pets. I found a couple of Dalyrake Harvesters. They are CL 15 with 2700 HAM and65% kentic resists. Now I won't be able to use them. I just went all over the web, looking at creature sites. The best thing I found at CL 10 was a Carrion spat 1100 HAM and 15% kenetic resist. Looks like an 800 HAM probot with medium armor stacks up pretty well. Most of the other CL 10 pets I have been able to find range from 450-900 HAM, and of course have no armor. Looks like the non-CH pets have been nerfed as badly as the old probots were.

I'd say it's premature to make that claim. We have now way of yet knowing how this will all play out. Maybe it's up to us to figure out why/when a CH might have need of a droid. We do have to have our in-game selling points, after all. If this turns out to be the case, however, I'll be the first to say that you called it first (and /bow, as always).

Why are non-creature handlers limited to only one "pet"?

I agree. Non-CH users, CH-users and DEs should be able to have out multiple service-only (non-combat) droids. They should be able to have out one combat droid (as they currently stand). DEs should be able to have out one of the current combat droids, one of the newly implemented versions or multiple service droids.

My guess on this one goes to balance issues and/or economic factors.

Why can't they havea droid and a faciton perk out?

Again...balance, probably. Multi-pet setups simply appear too "powerful" to the Devs, I guess.

Adroid and a pet out? a faction perk and a pet? all three? These are points for discussion.

I very much doubt that we'll be seeing dual-wield combat "pets" (perks/creatures/droids). That's where this looks to be heading.

Item storage, droid repair, crafting station...errr...oh. You're a DE. You don't need the sales pitch. CHs still have valid reasons to have droids...just not out at the same time. They can store a creature, call the droid, do their thing and revert to CH mode. I am not yet sure that this is a bad thing.

A creature handler's response to another thread sparked this one, While the final comment there was a bit cynical, the point was valid, in that, CH's will hardly bebuying droids if at all.

You may be right. What about the "stim and wound" addition though? Wouldn't they use a med droid to heal others' pets and then just transfer the droid around?

Or each by their own and call them 'in the round'?

I think there's situations where CH's will want droids...they just don't know it yet.
