Thread: Over-Powered R3????

I was in the process of making an R3 droid with all 4 crafting stations, level 6 Medical and level 6 Item storage when wouldn't you know it, I got a critical failure. Not once, but twice. Now I don't have a ton of the ingredients that I need to make the level 6 stuff, obviously, so I had to have the customer settle for an R2. Did I miss the memo that we can't add all this stuff? The wayI figure it, I lost about 80k with these stupid failures. To be honest, I wouldn't mind if there was anything else that I'd ever fail on. But there isn't. This is like the first 2 times out of 150. Anyway, any help you can offer would be appreciated.

The high Complexity of the Adv R3 plays a big role in the crit fail results in crafting. The base Complexity of the Adv R3 is 45, which is the same complexity as a guild hall for an Architect. Since Droid Complexity skill tapes still aren't working, the only think that helps to slightly off set the increased rate of crit fails are high end crafting tools (as close to 15.00 as possible) and high Private Crafting stations (as close to 45.00 as possible).

Best bet is to do these in factory runs.

As well, get skill tapes that add to your assembly, they help somewhat.

Pyollian Cake. It's a Chef food that increases your Assembly roll. I never get less than a great while using it.

I made two advanced R3s with all four stations, data, and inventory storage the other night. I hand made a few modules, and stopped experimenting once the quality was positive. Seemed safer. I did get both to 275 HAM, though. Always nice to make 90k in ten minutes time.

But I did fail an advanced R3 last week... probably because the customer was standing there waiting...

Thanks guys, I didn't think about the cake... which i have sitting right in my backpack. I did notice the complexity, but just could imagine 2 fails in a row.

Why not? It's not like the dice roll remembered that you failed on the last roll...

I was crafting vehicles. on swoop i got 3 times in a row, an amazing followed by a grat experimentation success. Then on speederbike i got, two times in a row, a critical fail followed by amazing success.

FWIW I dont think ive ever got a critical fail experimenting, not followed by amazing success (to no use).

After the two critical fails i tried an X34 to jog, the 'trend'. It did and then the results began to seem more random. It was my first crafting attempt that day I think that started these streaks.

There seem to be streaks of 'luck' in all these games. And I sort of in general like them. Cause they give you some chance at playing the streaks.

But SWG here seems toi have them more noticably and consistantly, Than Im used to.

FWIW in most 'normal' crafting a critical fail experimenting is about as bad as one on assembly. sept you have to destroy it yourself.

The reason for those streaks? There's no such thing as random numbers. The closest thing any programming language can offer is a generator that bases it on the system clock.

This will cause runs. When you crit fail once, sit back or get something to eat/drink for two, three or five minutes. Obviously this game doesn't just generate a single random number, I'm sure they do several things or generate several and average them or something, but in the end the numbers follow a pattern.

Try it out in a language sometime, you'll see patterns of like numbers and then a huge change followed by a pattern there. The most common"random" number is seeded on the clock, and so you'll see these runs often.

Definetely the random numbers in this game are not random at all.
I tries yesterday something new: the machines in the casino (or whatever... cant remember the name of the game or the building lol)
I played 6 times and these were the results:
1) 0-0-1
2) 0-0-0 (prize)
3) 0-0-0 (prize)
4) 0-0-0 (prize)
5) 0-0-2
6) 0-0-2

Taking into account that all numbers can go from 0 to 3... it seems a bit weird to have so many 0s
