Yet again another topic about Droid Pricing! I've read previous topics but really haven't gotten the idea of the pricing of some droids. I've heard people say it depends on the server your on...So well im on Gorath if that helps any.

So what i basicly want to know are...The prices for Seeker Droids, And Arakyd Droids. I've seen previous Topics about this and what people said they sell it for was 1000 per Seeker, and 1500 per Arakyd, or something like that. But just visited a couple DE shops, and they were Selling 172 per Seeker droid. So anyone know a ideal price for these droids? If it depends on server, Someone from Gorath help me out.

One more thing, The prices of Adv R2 with 5 modules the five modules would be Stimpack, Harvesting, Trapping. Im currently selling them for 30k. But i talked to one DE, and he/she said that they would sell it for 15k. I though that was a bit low myself. Anywho...

Can anybody help me out? Thanks.

Server and location varies prices immensely. The best advice I can give you is to start with an 'average' or what you feel is a reasonable price. If you sell out of something in a day or two bump the price up a little (and vice-versa). There's no reason to scramble to keep your vendor stocked if you can still move product steadily (and make the same cash) at a higher pricepoint.

i price my droids based upon what I think the time and resource required to make them are worth to me. if they don't sell, i lower the prices, if they sell too fast, I raise the prices. 30k sounds reasonable for a fully equipped R2. 15k sounds very low.

As for Seekers and Arakyds: I charge a lot for these nowadays because I can't keep them in stock if I don't. I used to charge 5k for a crate of seekers and 6k for a crate of arakyds. I raised those prices to 12k for a crate of seekers and 15k for a crate of arakyds because they were selling too fast for me to keep up.

I've recently stopped selling them completely because I can't spare the factory time.

I've seen arakyd prices vary by a lot from DE to DE, but in the end, the BH's tend to have a lot of money and will pay the extra money if you keep your vendor supplied. I seriously doubt that anyone selling them at 172cr per seeker could keep a vendor stocked, and if he doesn't keep the vendor stocked, the BH's probably aren't visiting his shop.

I usually do this. Go to SWG craft.com look at the TOTAL resources needed for any item. It totals them even down to the sub components on the "shopping list"

I created a simple spreadsheet that takes into account the cost of the resources * the number needed then I up that by 40 %. Average real world markup is 40 % in retail unless it's big ticket items. Ironically most places take a loss on that. Anyway I digress. Don't get too complicated really just put a formula for inorganic, organic, chem, etc... then total it at the bottom.

You will also want to take into account your cities sales tax if you are in a city.

Now comes the gut check. Look at the final price, do you know it sells for more on the server? Check around and comparison shop with other DE's on your server. Sell too low and you'll never be able to keep the product in stock. Then just adjust your price accordingly. It's a bit to set up but really nice once it's done.

Whatever price you do come up with, stick with it. First figure out a price for a droid with 0 modules. Then figure out what you want to charge per module. Then figure out how much to charge for armor.

I charge a fixed price on R3s and insist they have to have 6 modules, same with R2s and Probotswith5 modules.

Once you have these prices set, you can easily quote a price when someone inquires. And it will be alot easier to put your droids on your vendor.
