Thread: question from a former Master Droid Engineer
The recon kits are only usable by a DE and they heal a droid's wounds (black bar). A non-DE will need to either take his droid to a DE, or have a friend with a droid that has a repair mod. You can also be near a droid with an auto-repair module.
To the best we can tell, these were put in to address our complaint that DEs can't repair our own droids since we can't have out more than one at a time.
Aaaahhhh thanks...........
One other thing....
Where are all the droid engineer's on Bloodfin?
A lot of DEs tend to sell by order only. I'd try looking in the usual places like Coronet and Theed. I spent several days with my alt on Shadowfire looking for a combat droid to try out.
I think most players just haven't gotten used to having a useful droid yet. The new ones are arguably just as good as the old pre-nerfs that were selling for several hundred thousand credits just a few weeks ago. I'm really afraid that part of the problem is pricing. Higher level players don't have much use for a combat droid (or certainly not more than one)and the newer players can't afford to spend 50-100k for one. This is probably going to get worse with the new "helper" droids all characters can get. Why buy a droid for RP purposes when you can get one that actually talks to you (granted he doesn't say anything interesting) for free?
I think this latest series of patches were just to keep us hanging on till the SE comes out. I expect our astromech sales will jump quite a bit then.
