Heya!
I've got a problem- I have an ad-barking MSE droid that was made for me by one of the nicest DEs I've met, and I like to leave him out in the city center to announce things like city parties or to welcome people. However, once I travel to roughly 3km out, he seems to decide I'm not able to keep tabs on him and he auto-stores.
I haven't tried it with other droids so I'm not sure if it's just the ad barking one...has this happened to anyone?
Thanks!

droids auto-store under all sorts of conditions. I'm not sure if your distance from the droid increases the chances or if it just appears to increase those chances because when you are far away the droid has probably been out for a while.
I've had droids auto-store on me in the middle of combat.

Ah, thanks for the prompt response - I think distance is the factor here, because I've gone overnight without the droid storing, while I was within shouting distance; traveling 3k out makes it store without fail.
I'll pop a bug report for what it's worth. ![]()

This seems to be one of those "If a tree falls in the woods, does it make any noise?" questions. From what I can tell, the ad-barking droids store when they haven't been heard by a player over some time. Sooooo...as silly as this sounds, it seems that if you put the droid where it is heard, it stays out. If the droid is heard by no one, it'll store. So the question really, I suppose, is "If a droid is annoying in the woods, does it really exist?"

Yeah I thought it might be that, but on more than one occasion, the droid has been outside the Coronet starport (which is always far from unpopulated, and it stores abruptly when I cross the 3k mark in distance. I can relate your forest analogy to my bug report though - that'll prolly go unheard.

And I've left droids on patrol in a starport, flown to a different planet, logged out for 6 hours, logged back in, returned to the starportto find thatthe droid was still there (not barking of course, because it's battery runs out long before that, but still patrolling because the droid never stops patrolling until it stores no matter what the battery levelis).

The droid has to do something to not auto-store.
Put 2 waypoints and make it patrol, he'll stay there.
Also, after that, take a shuttle.
Then, you can even log, he'll stay there.
Lots of realted issues would be easily solved if the dev Frok the code for vehicle, pet and droids.
Each time they try to fix one of those, they break one or the 2 others.
