Ok, so I was making probots with 40% resist and light armor (lvl 3 armor modules)

Then I got advanced probots!!! I made my first one with ... 2!!! lvl 3 armor modules woohoo!!!

final result... 25% resist

**edit**!!!!!!!!??????

a probot with 1 lvl 3 armor module has 40% resist, and one with 2 modules have 25%????

Its something about 40% light armor and 40% heavy armor...I don't know the details.

The 25% resists was medium armor rating which means the droid will take a lot more of a beating than at 40% light armor rating.

The probot Armor Raitings work like this (from my own experimentation)

Level 1 = Light with 15% resists

Level 2 = Light with 25% resists

Level 3 = Light with 40% resists

Level 4 = Medium with 15% resists

Level 5 = Medium with 25% resists

Level 6 = Medium with 40% resists

Now when you add two modules to the same droid you get the sum of their levels -1

For example,

L1 + L1 = L1 (Actally, L1 + Lx = L x)

L3 + L3 = L5 (because 3+3-1=5)

Thus to get to Medium 40% which is the cap, you need a one of the following combinations or higher.

L6

L5 + L2

L4 + L3

What I do most of the time is just factory produce the L4 chips and then stick 2 of them on the droid. Ocassionally I get a request for something that can only take 1 chip to have max armor, In that case I have to use the L6 chip which is much harder to produce. But most of the time Armor is only important for the advanced probot which can take 2 chips.

I hope that clarifies things.
