Its obvious that the changes that we need to really make this profession viable and useful again, won't be for quite a while(1month mebbe 2) so then the question is, while were still asking devs to fix all this stuff what are we going to do for those 1-2 months, im a very low just starting de, 0-0-0-1, I've looked to this board for various info, what to grind, but i'm also not seeing much on pricing and a few other things tidbits, and other good info to have about the profession. So here is what i suggest. For those of us de's that are going to master and wait till they fix the profession, lets form a de union accross all the servers, Everyone can reply with there de name, server, planet, and i will compile the list in a few days make a post and we can all start talking to teach other on our various servers, like to keep prices around right so no one is ripping anyone off, and so forth. Think of the de as the depression, all gotta work together.

I've said it before. I'll say it again. I'm all in favor of working to create a DE community, but I will never, ever participate in any "price fixing" schemes.

They don't call such associations 'Unions'. They used to call them 'Trusts' before the anti-trust laws were enacted.

Nevertheless, in a competitive market, price fixing won't work. (Too many competitors.)What may work is some sort of professional association, that can stamp its seal of approval on its members, like the American Medical Association, or the London Bullion Market Association, for those who want confidence when buying large quantities of precious metals. The Underwriters Laboratory is an association which used to have its sticker on all products sold, which were approved by the association. These types of professional associations build confidence in the public and have been used effectively in real life. Perhaps this is what you seek.

Nevertheless, for such an association to work, there need to be problems which such an association would address. As it is, I don't see these types of problems. I don't have to worry about the gold that I bought being counterfeit. I don't have to worry about the quality of the merchandise, as all droid quality is either irrelevant, or can be read on the label. I don't have to worry about whethermy new doctor is honest and ethical.

So, I'm skeptical of how such an association would be effective in this game.
