Thread: Here's an idea for the Droid engineer.....
Well I am a combo CH and Droid engy andI was thinkin why not add an exp. system to the attack droids I mean it's gets really boring grindin for hours on end and I would like to stay with this Prof. so I was thinking why notmake it funnier by maken the attack droids get exp. I mean the way things are haven the Fugitive droid or any otheracutally attack is really pointless sense there not very strong so why not make the like a game also like the CH, also when a person uses your droidyou get exp. as well it's just an idea I been thinkin about Please consider doing this devs.
I am gonna say just one thing to this... Learn Engish and proper grammer and then post again!
It's a trap!
New droid features get implemented on a priority basis, and right now, CH, BH, All marksman, BE, Image Designer, Armorsmith, Commando, and most of the other professions are higher priority.
What in the world are you talken about dude?!
I have to ask have you even watched the movies the starwars phatom menace and the clone wars are BEFORE the Luke skywalker time.
I don't think you read my message right,By this timezone there should be more Advance droids then there were in the past.
He's sayin that the Droid engy class is way to boring, and it needs something to make it funnier then it is so why not make it like the CH in a way, and let your attack droids get xp when they fight and if they can stay alive in a battle they should get Droid engy xp so that it makes the Droid engy more then just a straight grindin profession, add something to it to make it funnier.
Give it a reason to be played don't bore your customer to death keep him intrested that's what he is sayin.
Well, this was just kind of painful to read through.
But in response to the comment about better technology than the time of episodes 1-2.as far as I understand the starwars background and mythology, with the coming of the emperor harsh restrictments were put on a great range of technologies. The main reason behind them being that they would threaten his control over the universe. Things like the holonet, which would allow for widespread communication between worlds. Ship technology. etc. It isn't too hard to imagine that combat technology (especially army-scale droid construction)would also be restricted from commercial use as that would also be a huge threat to the emperor's power.
Now that was all just story. It doesn't have any real bearing on this game in reality. As far as I'm concerned, I think we DEs should get a plethora of cool new things to make up for the brokenness that we've put up with for so long now. But as far as having better technology than the previous times had, that's a matter of debate.
Anyway. I'm not even sure why I'm posting on here. Just feels like such a waste knowing that I'm bringing this thread back up to the top of the list.
actually, i see something really innovative here. instead of a cert system, why dont we just make combat droids gain effectiveness through combat?
not every newbie can own a crazy attack droid, because not every newbie can get the droid to gain enough exp to be really good. so in other words, the better you are, the better creatures you can kill with your probot, the better the probot gets.
simplifying this system - better combat player yields better droid.
crafters would still have a decent guard for harvester runs, but more advanced players can have more advanced combat abilities with the droid. seems like a logical answer to the "anyone can use droids" problem, especially if theres a system where it loses its exp when transferred (memory wipe?).
maybe an AI module would be neccessary for the droid to gain exp, but we could just say its included in the droid brain.
anyone see any flaws in a system like this? if not then id say its a pretty good system.
and by the way, if you think we should have more advanced combat droids since this game is after droideka, why is r2 still awesome in say return of the jedi? also, combat droids were outlawed after the clone wars, so i dont see many people designing new ones. naboo starfighters were better than x wings in the original rogue squadron. star wars doesnt seem to have much of a continuous progression of technology, so i say droideka would work pretty well.
Not sure what the original poster was refering to but a few facts about probots.
When solo but grouped with a probot it will take exp from you if it does damage to your target.
When solo and grouped with a probot, you get 25% more exp per MOB, whether probot does damage or not.
Actually that's a pretty good idea Neo, i like that it would still a xp. system in a waybut not really xp makes it more intresting.
I like that alot, that would add a big part to a droid engineer.
Maken him a less borin char. prof. and add something to keep everyone intrested in going DE.
