Thread: Prices for droids?
I charge depending on the customer. Just don't lowball yourself. Droids do not die, so repeat customers will not be likely. (Except when I have people who like different models of droids).
Even if you're apart of a PA that shares resources you shouldn't go low. The people who try and say "what can I get for 7k" are noobs anyway.
Depends on your servers economy. Just have to wing it a bit and ask around for DEs and their prices.
I normally use the 5k per skill starting with novice and going through blueprints... up to Master. Except Protocol droids, those should be rare, those are mostly toys for the rich, 25k for normal and 50k for ADV is what I charge on those. Anything that uses rare/specific resources charge more for it, like lvl 4 module uses normal resources, lvl 6 uses rare resources.
I first calculate a raw value for the base component, off it's sheer resource number multiplied by cost. Then I add in any cost modifiers to this (such as use of rare metals). Added to this is the final cost of all subcombined items (chassis, modules, brain, etc), all of which were calculated the same way, down to the GP modules, Control Units, etc. Finally, I multiply this number by a markup factor, and use this as 'MSRP'.
Typically, I carry droids in my shop that are of standard configurations, and I sell these at a discount. There are several reasons for this, beginning with the fact that I make them with mostly crated items, and I do so in my 'spare' time. For custom-crafted droids, I charge fairly close to my final calculated number.
fear not my friend, any hard numbers (even general ball park numbers) are met with one DE argueing its either too low or too high
As a result very few like to post their prices ... but since I've got a steady stream of one droid I sell each day I'll let you know that on Bloodfin I sell R2's with the setup your talking about for 20k.
