Thread: Ran into crafting problem

I've been grinding out mse droids all morning and got intermediate and advanced droid blue prints this morning using a macro and 4 generic crafting tools. But now I'm trying to use the same macro with my weapon, droid, and general crafting tool and I'm running into a lot of problems. I changed my macro to use the different schematic but everything else should be identical since it the droid frames take the same 29 seconds the mse droids took. Perhaps it's the grinding getting to me, but I don't see what the problem here is...

When I run the macro it calls my first crafting tool and I insert the resources, then the macro continues on and the crafting session ends. I get no other error message but the count down never appears on any of my crafting tools when I run in the macro, although I use up my resources. Now if I do the crafting manually everything is fine.... Another thing I tried to do is to open the crafting tool then type the crafting commands in the spatial, but they seem to stop working when I get to /nextcraftingstage;. The crafting session never advances unless I manually click on the next button....

Anyone else heard of this problem before??

Weird. If I switch back to my generic crafting tools this problem doesn't occur. Is this a known problem?

Sounds like you might be making schematics instead of practice parts. Check your datapad to see if it's filling up with schematics. Since a generic can't make schematics this might make sense.

Are you anywhere near a crafting station? as they interfere with the macro and stop it working properly.

Um, if you are grinding Adv Frames on 4 station i would expect you to be trying to start up the first station again before it is done. I run 6 stations at a time on frame units. 2 resource clicks and only 29 seconds per run.

No it wasn't that. Not sure what the problem was exactly, but I had been trying to use the droid, weapon, generic specialized crafting tools. I shifted back to the generic tools and the problem ceased, so I boiled the problem up to a bug and left it at that. I just finished grinding out the entire DE prof, although I have to accumulate enough AP to take master, so everything worked out well enough. Could have finished faster but I kept running out of of resources! WOOT.

When I used a specialized crafting tool when i was a tailor, I believe there was 1 more window than the generic. Not possitive, but maybe. So maybe there aren't enough commands in the macro?

I've been starting the tools manually off my hotbar, and then completing out all the Next button presses with half a macro I salvaged - one for Practice noitem, one to actually create the item.

Usually it fires off an item in both Practice and non-Practice mode.

But sometimes (sometimes 1 out of 4 or 5 tries) it does not fire off an item.

Don't know what it is, lose the resources, just keep grinding.

At least I'm not an Architect

"When Sony and Lucas set out, we said, How can we do this and not make another EQ? We didn't want it to be all about Luke, or combat, or lock our players into a class. So we created a system that would allow players to switch professions during the game, and there would be a lot of gameplay around making that change. If you want to go from architect to scout we've created a system to make that happen."
