Thread: Deeded pre-pub 7 combat droids and HAM....

I just went in game to check what Kollos had stated in another post about deeded pre-pub 7 droids actually having the new HAM ratings even though the deeds still show as 827 or whatever. Kollos is in fact correct. The old droids DO have the higher HAM rating. I made a huge batch of probots right before pub 7. I thought I was stuck with a bunch of 820 HAM probots until I read his post. When called though they have 1083 HAM, .8 speed and .38 attack rating.

Now for the bad news. The deeded pre-pub combat droids do exactly 1 point of damage per attack.

I thought about this and realized this could actually be a good thing. After next patch if the pre-pub 7 probots have the new 3200 HAM, but still only do 1 point of damage, they will actually make excellent exp tank droids. Since you do all the damage, you get all the grouped exp while the probot does the tanking doing his 1 point of damage. On top of this, the old probots have 2 modules installed making them even better.

These guys may end up being worth more than they were prior to pub 7.

This actually makes some sense. The old Probots don't have combat modules in them, so the new combat system probably gets confused by them and doesn't really know what to do.

Just a guess, but I'm hoping that the same thing doesn't happen in the move from patch 7 to patch 8. Patch 7 droids do have combat modules in them, so hopefully their combat stats will automagically update to patch 8 values just like the HAM did going from patch 6 to patch 7.

Pre-pub 7 combat droids wouldn't have been built with combat modules, since they would have invisibly insta-crafted with just the normal probot components and empty combat module slots. Without combat modules in a droid, dmg is 1.

I think that what this means for pub 8, is that post-7 pre-8 droids in crates have a greater-than-zero chance of coming out just fine, since they have combat modules.

(Heh...Kollos posted the exact same thing at the same time...)

Hmmm...the actual death of the Pre-nerf, then.

I guess we knew it might come someday.

I guess, on the bright side, it should safe to crate new droids from now on.

Since we won't be seeing much change till space, what is crated post-P8 should be pretty set for awhile.
