Thread: Advice for a new DE? Not a Holo grinder?

I have found a lot of useful advice here on the boards, thank you for that. However, I wonder what other advice you all may have? Possible mistakes that you made at first, later kicking yourself for.
One question I did have was are there any ehancements I should be looking for? Something that will help me make my Droids better? Thx in advance.
Well... if you have some cash, you might look for some clothing attachments to help minimize Critical Failures. There is some discussion on the "value added" by using skill tapes that adds +2 (or better) to Droid Construction. Taking all conversation and chats "with a grain of salt", you might want to look into this.
Additionally, if you are truly not a Holo-Grinder... I'd recommend building everything... working your way gradually up the physicaltrees (leaving Experimentation/Customization to the last)... and use everything that you build (where possible, of course)... just so you "get a feel" for what the different droids and modules are capable of.

Well unfortunalty, our guild just recently started and I am the guilds DE, so that means I need to learn and learn fast. Sadly it means I will probably grind it out as well. So expect more stupid questions from me.
Thx for the tip on the clothing Attachment,sI have been looking. What is this DE toolbelt? Isn't that a loot drop schematic?
But in my opinion it is, at the moment, almost completly useless because it is a bandolier. Meaning, you cant wear it together with a backpack. I can see it being usefull when you make a schematic, then you only need a few resources, no need for a backpack.
Learn which things are worth experimentation and which aren't.Rule of Thumb, the newerthings DE has been given sincePub7are worth it, while older ones aren't. I am not trying to blow you off by my next comment BUT, the sticky post FAQ in this forum is really very good. I found it very helpful when it came to learning how to stack modules, and which modules it was worth experimenting on.
Also, the best friend of a DE is crated subcomponents. Make fair sized runs of things like Brains, Motivators, Manipulator Arm, and EMM and GP modules. Having these handy saves tremendous amounts of time when assembling droids.
Next, when it comes to important jobs, invest in some Pyollian Cake and some Bespin Port. Have a nice meal before you assemble and sip the Port while you experiment. One of the more exquisite forms of pain in SWG is blowing up an R3 advanced.
Thx for the advice, exactly what I am looking for. I did look at the FAQs, but I didn't see all that much about experimentation, I guess I'll go look again. As the DE for a new guild, who doesn't have any other DE's I find myself having to learn a lot fast. Getting all the resources needed is killing me as well. Low number of resources tends to make me want to "know" what I'm doing a little before I waste them "experimenting." Hence me wanting advice from all of you.
Thx again.
From what I understand, the DE Tollkit (bandolier) schematic is a randomly givenreward granted during execution of missions in the Imperial Theme Park on Naboo (others?).
