Thread: Will already crafted combat droids get increased HAM?

Did anybody test this? What happens to existing combat droids (ones from patch 7). Do they get a higher HAM value with this new patch or will it stay the same. Also what happens to droids that are already crafted but not tamed (still in form of a deed)?

Would be great if anybody could answer this.

When the changes between publish 6 and 7 happened, the only droids that got the benefit of the new rules were those still crated, iirc. When something is removed from a crate it is "autocrafted" using whatever rules are current for that object. That is my understanding of what happened before from reports read on this board. If you have crates of droid deeds, keep them crated until the patch hits. As for droids already "Readied" and droid that are in open deed form now, I think you will be out of luck.

I'm checking on this too....

The best answer I can come up with right now appears to be...........it depends.

If the droid is, for example, a post-P7 made droid and had been readied (and in your Datapad), then it no. It does not seem to see the HAM changes.

If the droid is in schematic form as a post-P7 build, it might.

I can't test some of the other scenarios since I don't have the droids to do it on TC. I didn't really get anything in place to be able to test the before and after.

It does seem that droids crated in P7 (and pulled from the crate after P8) might see the HAM changes.

It's a pretty strange situation and not so easy as a black and white "Yes" or "No". There are multiple variables and situations that might cause them to change or not.

This is something I'm trying to get on top of right now. I would recommend that you work under the assumption that NO droids will see the new HAM changes. Then you have no chance of being disappointed. If they do see them, you can be pleasantly surprised.

Yeah, I think this is what will happen with crated items. Too bad that I put the HAM values and other attributes into the deeds' names, since not all attributes would show before this new patch. Oh well, I might still sell those droids. Maybe I just should not have made such a large factory run of them though. For some reason I believed those attributes on combat droids won't be touched for a long time. A pleasant surprise to be sure but not without its perils :-)

Anyway, I appreciate all the answers.

Incorrect. As near as I can tell, all of the Probot deeds that I created prior to patch 7 still indicate that they only have 820 HAM, but once a customer readies the droid for the first time the HAM self-adjusts and the Probots come out with 1100 HAM (or whatever value is appropriate for the experimentation level I put on that droid).

Specifically, the deeds DO NOT have to be crated - all deeds seem to have changed to the new HAM system between patches 6 and 7. I'm hoping that the same thing will happen between patches 7 and 8.

Combat attributes didn't change correctly between patches 6 and 7, presumably due to the addition of combat modules in patch 7. This means that there's a chance that old (patch 7) deeds will automagically update to the appropriate patch 8 stats if the droid is readied for the first time after the patch. That's what I'm hoping for, at least.

As for the combat stats, I agree with you that those made with combat modules outght to recalculate when uncrated. The pre- P6 models probably had base values for the chassis, with no additions

The Combat ratings on a pre-pub 7 deeded droid updates to the new HAM,Speed and To Hit ratings HOWEVER, the damage rating on a deeded pre-pub 7 droid seems to be exactly 1 point of damage per attack. It took a looooooong time for my pre-pub 7 probot to kill a gnort and I actually had to heal it several times before it took it down doing 1 point a hit.
