hello

How importent is experimentation on droids? or is it only sub-components I have to use exp on?

Experimentation does nothing. You don't even need to use good materials. Go find the crappiest steel with under 100 in all the attributes combined and you'll make the same droid as someone who uses all 990+ attributes!

Ah I love being a DE!

xRavX-

I am not convinced that is the case.

It is definite that you can make minor modificaitons (a few HP) in the number of hit points on a droid.

I have also noticed that the higher quality the sub components, the lower the chance of a critical failure on final assembly.

It is hard to tell if the rate of the crafting station has any effect - some say yes, some no.

I tend to agree about subcomponent quality. I find that with better components, final assembly is better, and I get better numbers and easier experimentation.

So if nothing else it saves a bit of money...

There is one other thing to keep in mind about materials and experimentation.

Look at what happened with harvestors....

If you make droids like I do (i.e., make all the sub components in factory runs), then experimentation is a trivial cost in time.

Experimentation isn't really effecting the HAM of a droid right now.. but lets face it, what difference would it make? A probot with 1000 HAM or 820 is still going to be taken out in much the same time.

Experimentation IS working on components though .. and this is where, if you are sensible, you can make money.

With good experimentation, you can use 2 level 3 modules to produce a level 6 component.

With good experimentation, you can make a level 4 armour place the same rating as a level 5

So on and so forth.

Experimentation on modules effectively means less materials being used .. more importantly, less RARE materials being used.

Also, experimentation is very handy on droid crafting tools ... however, in my recent experience with these you need VERY good resources, otherwise your experimentation fails and you end up with 1 use...

nonono 1000 makes a big diff since the probot has 40% meduim armor. but 10 hp difference doesnt

Mine usually have 822 - 823

Gee, mine have 827. But everytime they are called, you only get 820. Check out the HAM when it's out... the deed and datapad are wrong.

As for 820 vs 810. Probots are 810, advanced probots are 820. No amount of experimenation changes this.

Compared to a Weaponsmith or Armorsmith, our experimentation doesn't mean much. Just a few HAM points or a little change in attack speed. Better quality ore means more of a range of experimentation to get those few HAM and to decrease critical fails and incease the likelyhood of a great or amazing success. But otherwise compared to those two profession, and probably some others, our experimentation doesn't mean much.

Not true. Make an adv probot with 819 HAM and it comes out at 810.
