Thread: Power Core Unit in Architect skill tree?

I just tried to build my first power droid tonight (I know, not much use for 'em) and I'm wondering why I don't have a schematic for a power core unit. So I do a little research and come to find out it's in the architect skill tree under small houses. I understand the reasoning of placing all the electronics under master artisan. It makes sense to master your root profession before moving on to an elite one (mostly). But for the life of me, I cannot understand why I should have to take up novice architect and attain the small house skill so I can build a freaking droid unassisted.

Sure, houses need power, but is it too much to ask forboth professions to share one schematic? Do other crafters require droid components to build their items? (seriously, I don't know) If I'm way off base here, someone please correct me. I normally don't whine on the boards, but this really bugs me. I gave up my musician skills so I'd have enough points to master DE and although it's a lot of grinding, in an odd way I enjoy this crafting proffession. I don't plan on giving it up either. I just think it would be nice if I could make my droids without having to take up aspects of another profession.

Nod in agreement, shake your head, post your thoughts or flame me, but thanks for letting me say my piece.

This really isn't news to many, this is the way the game was made. We need the power core from architects, but architects, along with some other professions, do sometimes require parts from us, AKA, crafting stations need storage compartments, shuttleports need an ADV prtocol droid chassis, etc. It's just the business world, just make friends with an architect lol

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I was unaware other crafters used our components. Now I don't feel so bad.

You can always take some resources to your local architect and ask for a schematic. Most would like to do that and might even ask you for a schem for droid compartments. Just because you need the part another player has the schem for, doesn't mean you can't assemble it yourself.

I make schems for architects almost every day. I tell them what it takes, they meet me and they get a free schem. Just a professional courtesy.

Oh, one more thing. When you are standing there about to pull out your droid to do the experimentation with, say what you're doing. "Let me get my crafting station out." I've gotten everything from "Thanks" to tips to "Can you make me a droid with a structure crafting station in it?"

Also when dealing with architects that are not master artisans they may ask you for control units and micro sensors. Make GOOD ones. And if you can't make really good one, 90%+ experimented, tell them before. I also like to put in the name what they experimented out to so that it is obvious as the specs aren't listed in the description.

I promise you that when an architect is making 38, 39, 40+ stations using your parts they will be happy to supply you with a few power core units.

Unfortunately, the two listed are the ONLY components we make that others can use. And the Droid Chasis thing for shuttleports was the most recent patch. Before then, Storage Compartments were all we had for other crafters, and those could be made by a Novice DE I believe (maybe one line up).

Unfortunately, we need, as you noticed, a Power Core Unit from the Architect lines. That's an item that....well, isn't entirely cheap to make.

And of course, Master Artisans sort of supply everyone, though us moreso than others.
