Somewhere someone sat in a room and made the decisions that resulted in Pets pets pets, whatever those things are all over the place...

So who was it? Can some one tell me? I want to talk to them. I want their name.

My kids watch while I play SWG, but when I showed them Episodes 4,5,6,1,2 guess what they asked me???

Where are the all the creatures?!!!!

Why doesn't Darth have any pets?

Why doesn't the Emperor have any pets?

Why doesn't Han have any pets?

Why doesn't Luke have any pets?

Why didn't Luke ride a better pet?

Why does Luke have droids?

All the main characters must have been n00bs if they didn't learn CH...

I bet no one ever owns up to this....

As it turns out, its the players who decided to like pets.

Subsequently, the players chose to be CH's.

Subsequently, CH's get a lot of developer attention.

I had no idea players made pets so powerful and useful that no other thing can compare.

Darn, I'm a player, how do I make SWG the way I want it?

Its about money , its all marketing. If they see everyone jumping to one profession they will spend more time on it to keep people playing. You ask why are there so many ch's? Well it might have something to do with the fact thats its the funnest profession for most people seeing how all the other professions are broken.

As a droid engineer, I've been thinking about this quite a bit lately. I've even started an alt on another server who is a CH (shhhh...don't tell the other DEs, they'll kick me out of the club ). I think it has to do with the fact that if you like PVE (which according to the poll most do) and if you like to solo (again, lots of people choose solo PVE) it's really the only way to go.
The problem seems to be that SOE has created a catch-22 with the issue. They have had to raise the difficulty of MOBs due to the number of CHs raking in the dough, but it makes more people need to get CH to be able to solo PVE. It'll be interesting with the changes in CH if they will lower the power of some of the MOBs to bring the curve back into line or just make everyone spend more of their skill points to keep up with the power curve.
