What level of medic do you need in order to call out a surgical droid as well as a mount?

For those of us without scout skills, and need a droid in combat (for the extra healing abilities), these changes come as a serious blow. Devs I congratulate you on your thought process in making the lives of certain (if not all) players more difficult, you truly are Jedi Masters when it comes to that.

It is already utterly stupid that you have to be in a camp to call out a pet. There is no point to that.

The ability to call out surgical droids is not tied to the medic tree. it isn't tied to anything. Anyone can call out 1 droid of any type max. Even a master DE.

As for the impact of the coming changes, it's my understanding that anyone (except CHs) will only be able to call one of anything. Droid, pet (less than CL 10), mount or faction pet, it's all the same. Not one of each type, mind you. One period. Sounds like fun, huh?

C'mon guys, have we really gotten to the point where we just one star a post like this and move on? Have we gotten to the point where we can't even answer a noob question? If so, maybe we really should be deleted from SWG.

please, explain to me the reasoning behind the 1-star? I mean,I am not knocking DE's in any way. I'm trying to confirm what I need in order to make USE of YOUR creations. Way to go! Please, if you wish to kiss dev-b L| tt, do so on a more deserving post than mine.

I'm not sure just why you got one-starred... But I did my bit to undo that damage. Your question is legitimate, and a matter of concern for all players, DEs included.

Gnome, the question isn't a noob one...

TH said that there will be an exception to the "1 pet at a time" rule, in the case where some professions will be able to call out a droid as well as a creature. He even mentioned that medics/docs will be able to call out a surgical droid as an example. So, I am asking anyone (but especially Sintrosi) who may know added details to please fill me in.

And ty btw for trying to save the rating.

5 stars from me.

It is not noobs that should get the one star treatment, or even those peeps that don't know what is going on, and ask.

The ONLY posts I object to are those where people ask, "Your profession sucks, but I need to get through it in seven hours. Give me a macro" when the macros are easily findable via search engine. That, and I'll stick up for Sintrosi ashe has stuck up for our profession.

grumble...guess Ihastily pressed enter somehow.

Anyway,I am more than aware that droids as of now are not tied in with any specific profession. I am just trying to see if anyone can clarify the droid pet issues that arose in TH's latest post regarding the ch changes.

From the post:

...And your profession will influence the type and number of droid pets you can call (or the number you can call in addition to a creature pet). For example: Doctors, Medics, and/or Combat Medics might gain the ability to call a surgical droid even if they already have a pet of some other type called...

Please share any info you may have on this issue.

No, we don't have any info on this, to be best of my knowledge.

I could be wrong.

These changes have not gone into effect, the CH changes are scheduled for next publish, from what I understand... Personally, I can have my mount called and have my probot out as the same time.

Mog4n...sorry, didn't mean to imply that you were a noob. Now that you've explained the question a little better, I see that it wasn't a noob question. You need to understand that we are one of the most misunderstood professions in the game. I have gotten that same question in game many, many times and they don't mean it the way you do. We get asked questions like this all the time, so sometimes we just shoot from the hip.

As for the real question, this is the last place you should probably be asking for information on whats going on with this profession. TH seems to talk to everyone but us when it come to these issues. I'd suggest the CH forum as we usually get our info passed via them. (ie Now, you can only call one pet at a time ( pets, faction pets and..oh yeah..droids too) )

Mog4n,

I remember seeing that quote you poseted. Notice he said that those professions "might" be able to call the surgical droid as well as another pet. To me, this means, it hasn't been decided yet, so I don't think anyone can give you an answer. This whole CH patch has not even made it to TC yet. When it was first mentioned TH said that they wanted to run it on TC so that everyone (and I assume this means the developers as well) could see how it worked. So, even after it hits TC I personally expect many changes before it goes live. So again, I REALLY don't think that anyone, not even the lead developers could give you a straight answer on this righ now.

From what I have read from TH it sounds to me like first, they will put in the sever chages with only one pet for everyone. Then after that is in, they will start adding a few exceptions.

Also, one of my characters is a doctor. To tell you the truth, I have never seen any real need to call out a surgical droid in combat. You get a bonus on your heals, but a surgical droid is like a piece of tissue paper. A diseased Nuna could take one out. I only ever call mine out in a camp or in a city.
