How do they work...once installed?

What can you store in them?

All my attempts to store "waypoints" or other "data" have failed.

Confused???

Any instruction or advice would be very appreciated.

Sorry, the only thing you can "store" on data modules are Factory Schematics. The devs saw that playerswere storing extra missions on their droids so they took it away. Then they saw that players were storing more than their alloted pets on them, so they took that away. So now we are left with factory schematics. I hope the DE that sold you your droid would have explained, but I always make sure that I inform the customer of that "feature"

They also store misc data like the disks form The Warren. Not a huge jump in functionality, but its a start.

There was a time that normal waypoints COULD be stored there, and think what a boon that could be: For instance, I set up and then had to delete all of the waypoints on Tatooine for the old pod race circuit, because I needed the space.

The simple answer is this: The programmers found it easier to keep us from storing any waypoints than it was to keep us from storing only mission waypoints. This was done many months ago, some blather went on about changing data structures and how maybe we'd get the ability back, but nothing good has come of it.

Having extra missions was..... *drumroll* Unbalancing!!!!

Basically, taking ten missions in one area let folks make money faster than the developers liked to see.

So they introduced vehicles. ;-)

Haha so true. Also the reduction in pay you get from missions nowadaysdoesnt even make up for the speed at which you can run them in a vehicle. Storing waypoints would be great. Even 2 extra missions would be great.

Back when we could store missions in data modulesit was broken to where the droid had to be out the whole time, otherwise you'd lose the stored missins, kinda like the way item storage modules were used to get rid of all those grinded mse's before practice mode /nostalgia mode off

hmmm. in that case letting the players store the mission waypoints in the droid again might just slow everything down, if putting the droid away means that you lose the mission. cause the players would have to stop and wait for the droid to catch up with the vehicle all the time. :-)
