Thread: So what in the hell can we do?!

The list of "cant dos" that we have seen from the devs in the last month has been staggering! It has come down pretty much to the point where it is impossible to think of something that droids can actually do that god forbid doesnt imbalance the game in the slightest way.

In fact, I would ask all of you the same question, "What options are left!" "What can droids do that they don't already that doesnt unbalance the game?"

Just about every profession is getting something in the near future, especially the combat professions. There is going to be more guns, swords, armor, better ham costs, better buffs, better food. Droids participate in NONE of this! But all of this somehow does not unbalance the game.

So what can we do? I believe it is a question without an answer because it is obvious to me that droids were an afterthought in this game and rushed through development and the devs are now finding out that they dont fit into the game metric at all.

In all honesty?

Save your resources and drop DE.. having a mass exodus may start to wake the devs up when someone somewhere has to tell their bosses the percentage breakdown of all the classes and DE is sitting at 0%..

Quit so the devs can finally delete the profession which is what they've probably been hoping to do all along.

A quote from the Imperial Crackdown page:

"Some Herbivores can be "milked" now (You'll have to figure out on your own what can be milked, though be sure to avoid "Bulls")."

Do or do not, there is no try!

In other words, make that great leap of faith and start your own durni milk farm!

The problem with adding new modules and adding functionality is trying to keep everything in balance. That just isn't easy to do. Profession already heal, slice, and mine well enough, and adding a little bit more bonus here or there mayjustcause a system to becomeincredibly broken. As an example, just a few more percent on a slice could make all kinds of difference in armor, and as high resist armor is generally considered to be nearly too good now, that's probably not a good thing.

As well, modules that duplicate and make unnecessary aprofession gained abilityare things that probablyshouldn't be in game either. It's very difficult to fit all sorts of droids in now, as much ofthe game is basically set in stone for the most part. There are many ways to get buffs, depending on what route you want to take. Droid could provide some lesser buffs, but i don't see a great demand for it unless it was better then other portable means of buffing one could have.

I could see droids doing things that are routine tasks that peoledislike spending the timeto do, like tending harvs. Also, beingable to place some goods in a droid and telling it to navigate along certain waypoints to drop the items in your home or traded to a designated personwould also be welcome to me. A droid courier system would be pretty cool, if most likely unworkable. The point is, look for things that aren't already being done by anyone. That's where i think DE's will find a niche to fill.
