Thread: Simple Question Why do the Devs hate the Droid Engineer Profession?

I will be upset if I don't at least see new modules of some sort in publish 6. I will be upset if I don't see fixes to alot of the problems currently in droids in publish 6. Overall though, I have a feeling I am going to be upset with publish 6.
Yep you are right.... There are NO new modules in Publish 6. There are some MINOR bug fixes in Publish 6. You are going to be upset.

I don't doubt that they are real Star Wars fans at all -- I just think this game's mechanics are designed to match a universe that is not entirely SW, but more EQ. Their obvious eagerness to add a Droid Commander class shows it. Their mentality is centered around combat and pets. They have GOT to step away from that mentality if they're gonna make this game feel like a real SW experience.
The reason they hate DE? Because they are a bunch of unoriginal, uncreative, mindless, pompous, big-headed, trained Monkeys.
They use copy & paste from another game...
Hey as long as they rake in the money like they are...what do they care what one small population of customers want?
The DE profession was put in this game for people who wanted it, or otherwise would move on to another game. They keep coming out with these falsified talks, giving us a hope which will be futile for us to contain.
If I wanted to be a mindless Creature Commando...I WOULD HAVE played EQ. I personally am SICK of all these games' ideas of copying the idea of Pok-E- Mon to put in their crap just to get a few slides of the credit card.
They are just re-inventing the wheel with this game, nothing more. It is just presented in a different theme. My car can drive in the city, or it can drive in the mountains. Either way, it is the same car... Now, if they came up with a car that flies, or floats...that would be kewl. Sure, driving a car in the mountains is fun. But wouldn't driving a different car, one that floats, in the mountains be more fun?
Pok-E- Mon has been rehashed ever since its conception...this game had potential, a lot of potential to create its own universe and be the leader in a new type of game...but again, the lack of brain cells in the heads of the DEVs brings up back to the same old game "genre" of "Sit back, yell out a /shout and watch your puppets go to work."
Stupid Human Tricks!
I wish I had a video camera and access to the DEV room where they have Farscape and Andromeda posters from which they pull their ideas and the faint voice in the background heard saying: "What is this game called again? I have to know which website to look at to get a name for this new NPC I am going to put in the 1st and only floor of the 10-story-high Player City Hall on Corellia." Then straffing over, I see memvers of the DEV team wearing Dark Ages of Camelot jersey shirts and rooting for the Lakers when while watching the superbowl on the projection screen in the conference room of their office building. "The manager is gone again today, let's PARTY." The camera shorts out as beer and other liquor penetrate its cracks and short out the electronics inside the $900 piece of equipment.
I remove my head from behind the lens and hear a laugh followed by a comment of "You chose to became a DE, you deserve what you get."
If combat droids had certificates based soley on combat droid XP, and you got combat droid XP only by doing damage with combat droids, and it took a lot of combat droid XP to get the really good droids, what would be the problem?
People would have to invest an awful lot of time and energy into gaining that XP. How long can you hunt with a probot, and how much damage is it gonna do per MOB? How long would it take you to get 100,000 points of combat droid XP with a probot doing 70 points of damage every shot against creatures that can destroy it in several seconds?
If somebody invested that much time in doing this, they deserve it. Who cares if it could imbalance things a bit... so do legendary weapons that people farm for weeks and months to get. So does combining buffs with food and spice and liquor and sliced, enhanced, legendary armor and toting a sliced, enhanced, legendary weapon.
how many skill points does it take to hold a sliced weapon? How many skillpoints does it take to use a powerup? How many skillpoints does it take to drink fishak or tatooine sunburn? How many skillpoints does it take to get doctor or entertainer buffs? What exactly did we as players do to earn those imbalances?
If the ability to use a droid or creature was based upon specific XP, you wouldn't need to limit players to level 10 pets or keep combat droids in mothballs. The players that could use them would have earned that right... whether they are creature handlers, droid engineers, belly dancers or commandos. Would they be stronger than an other of their profession... sure, but they earned it by spending time and sweat in that quest instead of getting rich or farming uber loot. And wouldn't a little uniqueness and variety in characters be a good thing? It would be fun to see a commando get spanked by an image designer once or twice in the galaxy's history. If done right, it would be less of a cookie cutter world, and more interesting, and yes, occasionally unbalanced.
