Thread: an Armorsmith's question about combat droids

So sorry. I know the topic has been covered but through all the posts I stillcan't make out a straight answer.

My understanding is that composite armor segments are required for the combat droid armor module.

My questions....

1. Does it matter if they are advanced segments or will regular segs yield the same results?

2. Should I even botherexperimenting on the segs? Ex. decrease HAM or increase resists

3. Does layering the armor segs help at all? Ex. kinetic layers give the droid higher kinetic resists

I'm pretty sure the answer to the last question is no but I want to be sure.

Thanks,

Erockem

My understanding is that all that is required is the basic compositearmor segment.... no other experimentation or "layers" are(currently) effective.

Should Sony and Lucas Arts be worried? (15000 users * 5 accts = ~$13MIL in potential lost gross annual revenue) If I were the CEO for either LA or SOE, I would certainly be worried.

answer to all 3 is no, make em as cheap as you can, lowest quality grind resources you've got.

armorsmiths are probably reluctant to make 'em themselves because 1000 segments will tie up their factory for 3 days.

if you have access to a armor/clothing factory just get an AS to make you a schematic. it'll take you 13 units of metal an 5 units of steel for each one. they probably wont even charge you if you supply the resources(or at least i wouldn't). i had 18k of some junk steel i'm using to make some for a guild-mate.

Exactly, buy a Clothing Factory, then spam the starport "Paying 5k to an Armorsmith to make me a schematic" then you just have to set up the Factory make the 1000 units and then take down the factory (that way it doesn't use up your lots)

thanks for you suggestion guys. I did speak to an armorsmith on our server (Ronne, makes great stuff BTW) and he basically suggested the same thing. I guess I'm going to have to bite the bullet and do that. I really didn't want to have to buy a factory for an item I'm going to run once every 6 months...

A master armor smith traded me Probot outfitted for combat for 120-130 of these composite segments he had laying around. They were grind quality segments that were just cluttering his inventory.

Lucky lady...

I can't FIND an armorsmith on Sunrunner willing to work with me on composite segments.. is why I have grudgingly decided to take up armorsmith 4/0/0/0 on my own.

And I intend toSELL composite armor segs to my fellow DE's.

Heh! I'm having the same problem on Naritus. We have tons of people selling composite armor and I can't find a single one of them to save my life. I've just made a bunch of Lv4s to hold out for a while...

If you're an armorsmith on Naritus, PLEASE get in tough with me!
