Why do we get something that we can't make. My guild tailor is in the process of making me one when she asked for a droid repair tool. So I made what thougth was one and it did not work. I then read on the board that is requires something that was taken out like 6 months ago. What is up, Throw us a bone here. The droid invasion was far from any invasion and then we have a special item that we can't make. Are there any plans to fix it soon?

As but a cute wee girlie I am not overly prone to bouts of paranoia however, this very case has me rather worried…

You just know, guaranteed, that every time the Dev’s mess with a crafted product the system will *flag* a tree of related products for testing. It’s really basic programming stuff and they never, ever, get it wrong.

Except this time.

Which sez to me that DE is more of a No-Go Dev area than I had ever expected. I don’t think any of them want the responsibility of being considered, well… responsible - for a mess I don’t think they can actually fix anymore.

FIX - CHUMMERS, THEY AREN'T EVEN TRYING TO FIX DROID ENGINEER ANYMORE!!!!

All we have gotten is lip service, pub7 and pub 8 while supposed to "fix" our proffesion have really done nothing other than hurt us. Granted a handfull of DE's say this publish is good for them - but I think they are just trying to not piss off the DEV's in false hopes something will actually be done about our plight. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA - the DEV's do not care about us. If they did they might actually listen to our plight. Now some of you might be wondering how i have come to such a cold realization. Simple, it breaks down something like this.

1) While their were some major "bug" fixes in Pub 7 that do benefit the overall construction of droids, and the addition of wound / damage repair kits. Everything else was made much worse than before, as well as new "bugs" that have appeared after pub 7 was released. (I won't get in to any of that here as TK has an extensive thread for just such a topic - nor will i spell out what bugs were fixed - if you don't know you are not a very good DE)

2) "Combat" Droids - Pre Patch I was able to have a Probot tank all sorts of large creatures while I stayed at range and got the majority of XP from the kill as well as stayed safe from harm. Now probots and R3's barely last a few hits against the same creatures - making them useless for tanking(YES, i have also tried the probots and LE repair droids as well). True, the new R3's handle groups of low level critters exceptioanlly well, but for anything but grinding a novice combat proffession they are virtually useless. For the price they are - these are only usefull to hologrinders that have already accumulated large amounts of creds and items. New PC's have little to no chance of owning one of these droids. Granted with the new combat capabilites having Droids with medium and possibly even light armor could unbalance the game. But halving the resist from 40 to 20% - c'mon now a strong breeze can damage my droid. I tested this theory against a PC - he is a Novice Pikeman 0-0-1-0 using a vibro lance. In only 2 hits a top of the line R3 was incapped - the PC took only 75 damge from the droid, the R3 took over 1700 dam. Now i do not mention this as a real complaint - I never expected droids to be usefull in PvP, and still don't. Nor would i really want them to be used in such a manor - but when they are nerfed to the point of near non-functionality there is a problem.

3) Droid Chassis - I was not one of the people that expected to see Droidekas in pub 7 or pub 8. I have been to the DE cave on Lok and know they are too powerful to be controlled by any PC with enough credits. However, I did expect at leat one new droid chasis. Preferably one that looks like it should be a combat model and was better at combat than an R3. Even if we had to quest or spawn camp for loot drops to obtain such a droid chassis - it hsould have been available. Now there is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE FOR US NOT RECEIVING A NEW CHASSIS TYPE. The Dev's easily could have kept the new droid type balanced with the others - afterall it would have the same combat modules and armor as other droids. WHY THEN DID WE NOT GET IT???? Simple - THE DEVELOPERS ARE LAZY AND DO NOT CARE ABOUT DE'S!!!!!!!

4) Lack of communication - earlier today i saw masses of DE's praising a developer because he posted on a board that he could not answer any of the questions asked by the community. C'mon folks - we are praising someone for a no comment response????? If the Devs would actually listen to us and open the lines of communication maybe this problem could eventually be solved - but as is DE is a permenantly BROKEN PROFFESSION.

5) Unfair grinding process for novice DE's. Having played several of the Elite Crafting Proffesions (Architect, Armor Smith, DE, Tailor) Other proffesion have items available to them at a much earlier rate than DE's that they can easily sell for a nice profit. Nice enough that they can run many harvesters or simply buy the resources they need for grinding. (I.E. Equipment Factories and small houses for architect, fashionable clothing and accesories for tailors) But poor DE's need to be at minimum 2-2-2-3 or 3-3-3-3 before they can even attempt to sell anything for profit. (No one wants droids with med ratings of 55, or that can only store 1 lousy item) Thus a DE must find a differnt way of making money than his chosen proffesion until he is almost a master. Obviously a DEV has NEVER PLAYED A DROID ENGINEER.

6) Most, if not all our issues could easily be fixed with one decent patch!!!! And would not un-balance anything. Heck, the game mechanics aspects of these could be fixed in an afternoon. We are not asking for the world, not even close. (Okay there are very greedy DE's out there that are, but most of us just want a playable proffesion that is more than a Doctor / Bounty Hunter support role) SOE, DEV's, TK if you are listening please do something and do it soon, otherwise no one is going to play DE's anymore. Soon there will be 1 - 2 per server that only do it to provide med droids, seeker droids and probe droids at an absurdly over inflated price.

In response to your #5, power. That's the only asset that keeps me afloat, as the seekers I'm making go free to guilded BH's. 2244 as it stands and I'm not even going to attempt to assemble anything save for a few junk droids to path around town while I'm away.

Heh, as an after thought to further that. After the weekend of grinding I sat infront of Coronet looking for training. Had 2 MDE's tell me they were two busy to help me soak up the 240K xp I was capped at (that upset me), but long story short, 30 min shouting for training, 100K of power gave me 4 tells all within 15 seconds of shouting it was for sale.
