Okay, new MDE here...question:
I've been buried making Battle Probots until now. I want to make other droids before I give up DE. I have everything made for an ADV R3 (like the 6 slots) but I have a question before I go assembling...
Do the clusters of 3 have to be all the same type? I.E. Do all 3 have to be medical? What are the plusses and minuses? I've read all the swg online guides...no info...
If I make an R3 that has 1 of each of the 4 crafting stations, a medical and a storage, is this stupid? Should I be making one with 3medical and 3 storage, etc.? Is there a crafting plus to having more than 1 of a type in the droid?
Any quick response would be super...R3 is on hold until then...

The clusters do not need to be of the same type. They only reason to place identical modules into a socket cluster would be to stack lower level modules (storage, data, medical) for a higher effect, however you only need 2 decent level 4 modules to max out the effect, so there would be little reason to stack 3.

Ok, no you dont have to put Identical Items in the sockets. You will need to use the Combat Socket for the R3 as the General Socket does not work in the R3 now. Each socket hold 3 Componets, if you want to make your R3 with each craft station:
1st Combat Socket
WDG Cr Station
Stucture Cr Station
Food/Chem Cr Station
2nd Combat Socket
Clothing Cr Station
L6 Med Unit (110% cap)
L6 Storage (10 item cap)
You can stack Items like the Item and Data Storage Modules, but there is a cap. 2 L3 Item Storage will give you 10 (the Max allowed) but takes 2 slots in the sockets.
Hope this helps

Thank you, but one more question. How the (explitive) do i get 110 medicals? I mean I've got 44+ crafting station, 14.94 crafting tool, a few skill tapes on for droid assembly and one for experimentation, using 999OQ fiber for the chem part, yet I *STILL* can't get a med module higher than 12 (hence about 37-40). What am I missing here??? Is there a secret handshake or incantation I have to do? Jeez...

The Medical Rating isn't the same as the rating you are looking at (Item Quality?). If you have that up to a 12 then you've got a 110 Medical Rating already.

Are you sure? Cause when I put 3 of these items into a combat cluster and experimented it up (all great successes), it still said it had a MEDICAL rating of 36....**edit**?

You won't see the actual med rating until the FINAL combine, when you make the actual Deed for the R3. Then you'll see that it's at 110. As long as your original medical module is 11 or higher, you'll get 110. (I think it's just 11x10=110 for the rating). You could use two level 4 modules rated at 8 each, and still get 110 max.
Hope that helps!

Final noob question: is there a usefulness cap on storage units? I don't have the neutronium or the special extrusive required for a level6 storage unit, but was wondering if putting in two level 4 units would be useful or a waste? Do they stack, or is it capped at whatever 1 unit gives?

Actual storage space caps at 10 items. If you make one level 6 or two level fours you will get the ten items. So the point is unless you are trying to fit as many different modules as possilble, or the droid type only takes a couple of modules, there is no point in making the level 6. I usually reserve two module slots for the level 4s and go with that. Its much easier due to the resource requirments for the level 5 and 6s.
