ok so Devs are having a devil of a time making us DE's happy with combat droids and putting in decent starwarsy combat droids for all to use.....so the proposition!

Training modules required by all elite professions to master 1 tree. Just like a BH cannot master without us all elite proffessions should be forced into purchasing a product we make so they can master. Whether is jedi combat training drones to math practive for merchants all elite profs need to be reliant on DE's so we have a purpose, even if they make these new droids players other then BH if they want need never get a droid and have no disadvantage over a player whom does have one! Come'on gang can i get a hell yeah?!? so throw out your thoughts agree/disagree this is the real issue for DE, WE NEED A PURPOSE-TO BE PART OF THE WHOLE ECONOMY!!

well enough rant for me.

Sorry Gron. I can't support something that forces someone to have a droid.

If the Devs could just get their act together, people WANTING a droid would be enough to keep us busy, but for some (no doubt Diabolically inspired) reason, they seem not to love us enough to do that.

We shall see if things change for the better with Pub 8....in the spirit on 'constructivity' I have to say ..I am not honestly very hopeful

so what then nix WS? nix chef and medic? nix us for making us required by BH? economy is based on interdependence, without it we are (like now) nothing. I think you are seeing what i wrote as a forced droid purchase, and that is what it is, we have that for 1 market and that market is bugged (seeker bug..) anyways, the game needs to shift towards droids being a critical part of the SWG world in the larger and more intricate context. There are few ways to do this without throwing something out of balance besides the suggestion i am making here.

It has to mean I don't understand what you are saying then, cos you say 'force' in the initial wording.

Ahh well at least you got a /bump

i guess my prime point is the developers chose to make us required for 1 profession to master. Why can we not be further included into more profs to master? this would be a logical and wanted step towards making us viable in the SWG economy. Force is already in play between us and BH. And since the rest of the economy doesnt have that force to have to use our products we are left with essentially nothing of a prof, we make noveltys, toys. That is what im driving at.

if Droids are required to master something, then before long vehicles will be required for Master Chef,Sludge Panthersfor Master Pikeman, and ATSTs for master Image Designer.

you know, to balance things out.

lol i see what your thinking but lets look at the facts, there are few consumer purposes out there beyond fighting, crafting, grinding and roleplaying/collectables. The modules we have now help crafters, finally starting to have a more well rounded fighting support (albiet missing armor) and in publish 8 the modules suggested thus far are not required by anyone to get anything done-oh and weve always had a good furniture market with chassis......point is this, of the market types we sell in most other then BH and medical modules are completly optional, in retrospect, a WS sells products that must be used by a fighting person to maximize that path, an doc/chef also-buffs are a highly valued/desired service, Tailors now combined with BE are selling products thatenhance peoples abilityto perform in there profession.....ok so what does all that mean, pointblank the devs/TH are telling us they dont want toadd enhancements via droids, look at pub 8 proposed modules, they dont enhance anything, ok also they tell us that they cant add higher power combat droids without a prof to handle them to balance the higher CL powers into the game...so 2 stickys spots....What im suggesting is reinforcing our roles into being part of proffession mastering so we have a more viable market, not enhancements (unless theyallow it, please god) just a way to have moreproducts people need. Well hopefully somepeople will agree, the new combat droids area great start but i think we can do even better, as far as diverse markets.

This idea doesn't bring DEs into the interdependency scheme that we see now with other professions. Chefs now use BE additives in their foods, but they don't HAVE to. Tailors use BE stuff in their clothes, but don't HAVE to. Consumers use vehicles from master artisans, but they don't HAVE to. The main drive behind buying and using these items is that the consumers WANT to use them. The Devs need to focus more on the desiring factor of driods, rather than making them fall into the "Ugh, now I need a damn droid" category.

I feel for all of you DE's, but I'm not sure this is the answer.

Please head over to my post and voice your opinions if you think my idea will help. I truely believe this idea will make DEs and their customers happy. We need the devs to look at this post and consider it too:

fair enough, id love it of more of what we made enhanced are was used by other crafters. another version of the droid storage modules (which any good craftstation maker knows are a must) for fields like WS, AS, ect ect. of course stray to far into the world of enhancing here not sure how the devs will support that...based on what they have said thus far. (not that im against it)

this is just one form of solution, nothing im suggests means we shouldnt have new combat droids or better enhancements to other profs, this is a conditional that droids should meet so we have a purpose in other players playing and part of the economys interest.

One answer.... the same answer that needs to be applied to so many other questions in this game:

Factions

Faction droids, faction seekers, craftable faction armor, faction droid modules, faction weapons, etc... this game needs a fire lighted under it's rear; the whole economy / system is pretty fricken bland without something to fight for.

great point! thatwas my outline for early combat droids ignoring the silly DH/DC ect concept, to have factional droid fighting pets that can permadie. and also really big battlefield droids ect ect. just another solution to the real problem of us being involved with the larger economy.
