I have a couple minutes to kill here at work and I've searched the threads and havent seen anything like this so...
I was running around last night checking my harvs and thought to myself "why dont i use a maintenance droid? I make them?"
The answer is the even if the current module gets debugged we will still have to check our harvs at least every other day.
The module is only really effective for static structures like houses or factories b/c it can only deposit cash. If I have to go to the structure to deposit power or remove resources anyways whats the point?
My thought is that droids are supposed to make this game less of a chore. So when the time comes when we can have more utility mods added to the game (and God only knows when that will happen probably post-JTL, post-Droid Commander) this is what I'd like to see to complement the maintenance mod:
1) Structure Maintenance/Power module-a combo mod that deposits cash and power, replaces the currentmaintenance module.
2) Structure Admin module- virtually add/remove admin rights
3) Structure Redeed module- virtually redeed your structure
4) Structure Hopper module- be able to remove resources from your hopper
5) Structure Control module- to be explained below.
Now thats four modules. If you want to have a droid that can bring resources to you from the structure you would need to load the droid with a storage module as well.
Ok so in order to have all of these items an Adv. R3 is required. The Structure control module is required b/c when the droid gets to the target structure the radial dial pops up as if you were there and clicked on the structure yourself. Then you just use the radial dial as if you were there. If you want to remove resources it gets loaded into the droid and will not just appear in your inventory.
My thought would be that you could not use the Control module unless all modules are installed. The only module you could use alone would be the Maint/Power module.
I am not a programmer and have no idea how difficult this would be to implement. Im thinking that if we use the existing system (the radial menu) it might work. What do you all think?

I agree those would be great ideas, but I doubt they will ever actually give us 100% remote harvesting control. Would be nice though.

That is true..dare to dream.
You would still need to survey and actually plant the harvester however.
And sorry abt the double post.
