Thread: Storage Droids? How many slots? How many can I have? etc.. Can someone advise me please?

I heard from a friend that we can have droids that store things inside themselves. I need extra storage for my Bio Engineer when he's out sampling, so these sound very interesting.

The problem - as a BE - is that I need FIVE samples to make ONE DNA template. I have to travel many kilometres collecting those samples so going out and only being able to grab 60 or so is a pain. Going out with zero equipment (to get more slots) can also be tricky - still need armour, weapons, brandy, Stims, etc.

Any extra storage (preferable in multiples of 5 slots) would be a blessing.

So...

what can Droid Engineers offer in this line?

How many of these 'storage droids'(?) can I have in my datapad at once?

What sort of price should I exect to pay for them?

I hope someone has time to clue me in on all this.

Easy enough.

Unless it has changed, you can have 5 droids on your data pad with 10 storage spaces max each, so that will give you 50 more spots.

Thank you.

If they have the 10 storage slots, is that the droid 'full' for posible modules or can they be made functional too? (e.g.: A crafting station in addition to storage?)

I'm sorry for what must seem like very simple questions, but I know nothing about droids having never tried DE. I've played BH, Doctor, Scout, BE, Squad Leader, Ranger, Artisan, Ranged Weapons, Armoursmith, etc., but never a DE (I don't hologrind, did them all for fun)

purplewarrior, you do realize that if you equip a backpack, that will increase you own carrying capacity from 60 to 110 don't you?

hehe - I've had a backpack since the first week I played. Thanks for mentioning it though The 60 mitem space is what's left after you count my 'equipment'

I'm a clutterbug. I carry enough equipment to allow for all eventualities I'm afraid, and find it very hard to leave some of it behind. I also search every lair I find, sample every meat I come across, etc. etc.

I'm a hopeless case who desperately needs more personal carrying capacity *grins*

In answer to your question PurpleWarrior... the storgage Module that yields 10 inventory spots takes up one spot in the droid. So you can have more modules andhence more functionality in a droidthan storage even when the storage is maxed at 10.

Also, anything on your person does not take up inventory space, so if your armor and weapon are equiped that should save space. Certainly you can store stuff you don't use that often in the bank or your house as well. If you still have no space after all that, then yes you are a pack rat.

If you got a harvester droid btw, with a storage module supposedly the harvest will go directly into the droid's storage unless it is full. That sounds like something you may want to invest in.

Thank you - now the droids are starting to sound a lot more interesting.

Yes - I am a pack-rat, unfortunately. My wife despairs of me in game, and out

The Harvester droid with Storage module sounds very handy. I'm going to go look for one of those.

NO flower hold it!

Lol

If you put a storage unit in a harvest droid it reduces it’s harvesting effectiveness

I hate to plug in a help me thread but if you go to my vendor outside Theed (link in my sig honey), then you’ll find ‘proper’ harvest droids giving a good bonus to your own harvest abilities and I also have crafting droids which have a 10 item storage module in them, they’ll allow you to craft in the field and store both items and schematics (150 schematics if I remember correctly). You don’t have to buy them flower /soplugover but the contents of the droids and the descriptions I put on them should give you a good ‘real World’ (real world in a VR, weird non?) example of what you can expect.

I hope that helps honey.
