I am curious to know. I know that driods are very strong and have good HP> My question: can a driod ever exceed 10k HP? Also, I know driods are not permadeath...... now, are regular pets permadeath? Please advise.

No and no. A 10K HAM pet is supposedly an invalid non-CH pet, so you take your chances getting one and having it taken away later, but anything comparable to a droid is more or less a 'taste' and usefulness choice.

Well, it happened once before. Had my Mr Hoppy taken away from me. A 9K HAM, strong poison, Dizzy attacking 40% Kinetic Durni. He was my favorite pet in my backpack. One day I tried to take him out and the SWG gods said, "Ye verily! This bunnyis much too strong!" and forced me to take him to the neighborhood NPC CH Trainer Vet. The vet took him away, give him something nasty and handed me back a 800 HAM mangy rabbit that dropped a lot of rabbit pellets. Mr Hoppy was never the same and I had to put him down.

Will that happen again? Well, it happened twice to our 'overpowered' combat droids. Once long ago within a month of release and then just a few months ago with the removal of our droid armor. They in place gave us all combat droids we are quite happy with that seemed to balance the nerfs.

I personally don't see anything wrong with the current non-CH pets. They can be quite a bit stonger in HAM, but the droids seem to be better in damage and utility. The Bio Eng forum however think they are headed for a nerf. I hope they are wrong because it seems there is a nice balance to me now between BIO and mecanical pets.

The difference I noticed between nonCH BE CL10 Creatures and Droids is that the creatures are heavier in the Health and Action HAMs but their Mind bar is usually 1k - 2k max. Droids, from what I've seen, have HAM bars with equally high Health, Action and Mind (ie. ADV LE REPAIRS at 5.9k, 5,9k, 5.9k). If you use a creature to start tanking and the mob starts hitting in the mind then the critter may not be standing for very long. Creatures have the advantage in that they can strike with special attacks but usually the damage (for nonCH BE CL10 Creatures) is not exceptional and the specials don't land state changes frequently enough.

I use my nonCH BE CL10 creatures for mounts or RP as pets.My Droids are my tanks and my combat allies, an ADV LE Repair or an ADV Probot w/ Auto Repair is more then enough for most mobs up till Endor, Dathomir and can easily handle the damage output of even the highest NPC BH Mark.

Combat Droid versus BE nonCH pet (CL10 max) is an interesting comparison. If one were to pit them against each other the combat droid will win every time. The reason for this is that the BE pets have terrible tohit values and dmg is usually 30-40. BE can instead push their HAM up to make up for the low damage which makes them excellent xp tanks becuase they take all the hits and yet do not put out any damage so do not cut down on your weapons xp. If you want something to actually foght for you then the DE comabt droid is much better.

The 10k HAM nonch pets will definatley be nerfed. As a Master BE myself, I make my nonCH pets at about 6k health and 3-4k action and mind. I am hopign that is jsut below where the eventual nerfs will start at.
