whoa, Whoa, WHOA!!!!!

CHASSIS color now takes effect on the droid?!? Does this hold true for the other astromech units as well?

My hall of droids just got a LOT more interesting, if my customers can walk along and select the one they want!

**wait** This gets even better. The first time I brought the R3 out, it was the correct chassis color. Now everytime I bring it out, its a random color lol. Ive had purple, grey/red, oh man it just goes on.....sigh.

I can confirm that droid deed taming does, indeed, work again. (Thank the maker!!)

I have yet to try coloring my R2 Adv. but will post here if the color 'sticks' on it. I'm hoping they did go ahead and fix that. Coloring is useless without the ability for it to save.

When you guys test out coloring, both during chassis construction, and with the new tool. Can you also check on droids that were made before the patch? I wouldn't be surprised if they held their color differently than ones made after the patch.

Just something to look out for.

Head up on droid customization. The button they add to your overhead you can trash, because you need to build a droid customization kit, which is at the very bottom of your droid schematics. Not to hard to make. Drag it to your quickbar, target a droid and go to town. The same colors available to the droid's chassis (for Adv models) are the only ones available, so no sliver Protocols. The customization kit is charged also, so better minerals and experiment means more uses.

The droid owner has to consent you. Sometimes it works, sometimes now. Grouping with them seem to unwrinkle any consent bugs.

Now for the bad news. None of it works. The droid changes color to the DE and owner, but not to anyone else in my tests. And after loggin out, the droid returns to default colors. Thanks again Sony. Instead of adding newly broken features, try fixing everything else. Give us our 3K HAM probots back (to compete withnon-CH pets out there) and while you are at it maybe even grant us 10 experiment points likesome of the other professions get.

Sorry for the typos ... boss was coming around the corner Just so everyone knows, the droids my tests were performed on were pre-patch droids already tamed. Im afraid to make new ones in fear of finding new and wholy unpleasant bugs.

I don't know what you're talking about, buy my 819 HAM probot tanks much better than all the nonCH pets I've seen. Now, if you want a 3k probot to compete with the CH pets that's another thing.

Unless they Really fixed Armor in the hot-fixes, No, you're probot Won't tank better than any non-ch pet, not even a Gorg or Ril.

Greetings!

I've done some testing today with the droid customization.

I had no problems with coloring DZ70s, Probots (pre and postpatch) and my R3 (postpatch).
But I failed coloring some prepatch R2s and prepatch R3s.

Now here is my opinion:

I don't think it has to do with pre and postpatch. You maybe have noticed in the datapad the point "Customization lifespan". (Since patch it seems that the droid information is bugged in the datapad)
But b4 the patch we were able to see that And you all know the sentence "Your droid customization fades a bit more bla"

So I think it has to do with the amount of times you called the droid. I had always success with coloring droid which were not stored yet, they were "fresh tamed". I also had success with droids which were relatively new or not used often (also prepatch of course). So there has to be a number of calls which has to be important. Maybe the droids are supposed to not being customizable after 25 calls. But atm every droid is customizable but it won't keep it.

That's my thought.

See:

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=droid_engineer&message.id=28430

I think I may have figured out what's up with color sticking to some droids and not others. Forgive me for not posting here but I wanted to consolidate the threads.

I did successfully color an LE Repair droid last night that I had called dozens of times, so I don't think it has anything to do with how often you've called a droid. I think that when they tried to 'upgrade' all the droids out there some of the models got gorked and it didn't take right, however when newer ones are built they function fine (since they are constructed properly from the start and not just upgraded by code).

Just an update:

I made another adv R3, colored the chassis like I wanted and the body color came out fine but not the trim). I stored it, took it back out and this one was also giving me random colors evertime I called it.

However: I then colored it with the new tool and stored it. And the color stuck! Ive stored it numerous times and the color is still the same as I did with the tool.

Has anyone tested this out with an R5 or something? Something that dosnt use a chassis and didnt work yesterday, but may have after todays hotfix? Or is it just the adv/chassis models?
