I have heard arguments that there would be problems with good combat droid becuase there would be no way to limit who got to use them (dont' want newbies using good droids too soon). Some have suggested certs for them and such. but I have an idea. use the limting factor already in the game. Skill points.

Alllow DE's to have whatever droid they want out, if they made it, othewise they use up SP to control it. (mabye even let them control 2 at MDE)

Everyone else has to spend SP at the time of the droids taming or transfer to 'learn' how to control it. better droids would take up more SP (maybe use up the same amount per 'tier' like 2-3-4-5, or 5-4-3-2). Now of course thses droids would have to be superoior to thier non-ch pet equivlents for them to be an attractive alternitive. Which would reqire new chassis or schematics or both.

Now also New players have tons of SP to spend in the intial stages of the game, so to limit that, it is based on the highest level they have in any second level proffesion. So a master surgeon (doc with lvl 4 in healing wounds) could use any of the highest classed droids at the total Sp cost of 14.A master marksmen though would not be able to as it is not a second level proffesion.

Ppl willcomplain about the SP investment, but even a Ch has to use SP to control good pets, and using a good droid would use FAR less although they would on average be less powerfull than a CH'er pets (and rightly so) for their level. Since they have no investment beyond thier purchuse and training reqiering SP. Destroying or sellingtransfering them would free up the SP's.

Also not to leave new playesr out,other non-combat droids could still be contolled by anyone without a SP investment.

You didn't read. You do not neeed certs. AndI explained why you would need one, I will explain futher.

DE's will never have anything better to build than it does now unless there is some way to limit how powerfull a droid a user can control. non-CH pets are limited by level. (lvl15)

It is unfair to say that with things how they are, that droids should simply be better than non-ch pets, just because. It is fair however to ask that for a incresaed investment you should get a increased return.

By limiting who can control powerfull droids you can make them more powerfull because only those willing to pay the money for them and invest the SP to 'train' in them will have them. That keeps relitivly 'new' chars with lots of SP from simply getting a buddy to give them a powerfull one. By using up SP that is the balance needed to warrent making them better at combat....ya know the only thing they cannot do now.

This would allow people to control something better than a rock beetle...a droid.

This means a sellable product for you, and a realistic, usefulldroid for me. (cause Im not keeping CH forever).
