Hello all,

There are a lot of messages on various threads commenting on color customization, instead of responding to each and every one I decided it was best to start a new thread. It seems when it comes to the R-units any droid WITHOUT an adv. chassis won't hold it's color. That said when one attempts to create a droid WITH an chassis that is already colored, the result will be random colors upon storing/recalling. When color customizing a droid with a chassis the color (as of this point in time) holds.

I tried this with the lowliest R-unit I could try it on: an adv. R-4 with an already colored Chassis. I stored/recalled it right after taming, and it came out random colors. I then used an old (yesterday's) customization kit, and the color held upon various stores/recalls. I even logged out and logged back in and the color held.

So as of this moment it seems we can color any R-unit droid with an adv. chassis, in addition to chassised Probots, Repair droids, and Surgicals.

Hope this post has been of some assistance. The utter dismay after the 8th seems to have cut a sharp divide amongst DE's everywhere, maybe color will help ease the pain until the next big fix..........

I am sorry to say, my R3 Advanced (so it has a chassis) can not be made to keep its color. Neither can my powerdroid.

Two probots and a surgical took the color fine though.

sorry I jumped the gun there, assuming all R-units hold their color.....my R-4 is still holding.....any clue if the R-2 units hold?

R2 units were reported as holding colors as were R5's.

I think I may have figured out what's up with color sticking to some droids and not others. Forgive me for not posting here but I wanted to consolidate the threads.

And what did you experience yourself?

The droids that hold their color have to be new ones. I had an R2 which would not hold its color, and he always came out grey. Then I made an R4, and an R3, and both of these droids seemed to come out with random color. I used the customization tool, and after 2 or 3 attempts, got them to keep their color. I'm not sure why it didn't work on the first attempt. I think you have to do both colors for it to work -- maybe -- but am not sure.
