Thread: Does anyone else have to put up with people like this?
Last night, late, before I was going to bed I was walking through town. I saw a guy spamming that he wanted a bare bones mouse droid. I sent a tell saying, I could make him one for 1k. The resulting onslaught of insults and accusations are here:
all pics have been edited in: language, non-topic content (other tells, guild chat etc), and cropped. work friendly links.

In all seriousness Isell them at 1k because that's what makes making them worth my while. Let the novices that are grinding them make them for less... after the first few tells that's all he needed, but he kept insulting me, and I kept my composure and attempted to stay nice to him.
any critiuqes? I love how he claims to have masters on other servers, and complains about 1k.
They paged me a few times to yell, which I ignored, then offer more credits, which I turned down. There were a few more pages with invectives which I ignored and then they went quiet.
I assume that they were a bit more polite to the next DE they dealt with.
1k is not out of line for a Master produced MSE. As you said, we don't want to kill Novice droid engineer's only sellable item. It isn't worth our time to think about an MSE much less make one.
I have passed on orders of droid storage compartments to novices (unless a high experimentation is desired) simply to help out novices. Hard enough to skill up in this profession without making a dime ![]()
The conversation was quite long, I agree, and I doubt I would have taken that long with him. I applaud your patience.
You are a better man than I, after the first few lines of curssing I would ahve simply told him to 'f' off and ignored him. probably just another non-crafter
haha...... Why waste your time?
If someone doesn't like my price, they can always go find someone else. Esp if they're a jerk about it.
Like they'd expect me to help them after treating me like that?????
BTW, I always insist on getting special orders by mail so they can't jerk me around on the price. I can just forward the original mail right back at em and shut them up.
Right now I'm waiting for some jerkwad to contact me for an R2 unit he ordered. We did everything using tells, I deliveran ADV unit with morethan he even asked for, just cause I had the chassis laying around and wanted to get it to him quickly (std R2 required socket cluster Prod III???). We 'agreed' on 7k, he comes back with "Wasn't the price we agreed on 6k???"
BS! I'm sick of selling crafting stations, kreetle, and 'basic camp kits'.......
I'm polite, and like helping people that need it, but I'm not putting up with crap when I can't even make any money except selling cheap personal harvesters.
I sold a MSE-ADV to someone who desperately wanted a Mouse with a Food Crafting Station and a L6 Medical Module. I tried to talk her into something better, but she really really wanted a Mouse.
I explained that I charge based on capabilites, not frame, and she said that's what she expected and that she really wanted a mouse. So I charged her my usual rate for a Surgical Droid with the capabilities she wanted and she went away very happy with her new mouse.
I guess if they're willing to pay Master-level prices that I should just shut up and sell to them, but I do always try to steer them to the bazaar for low level items.
you go girl!
hehe jk pima...
but yea, we've all had our fill of the ill tempered customer, who happens to know more than you.
well, as a new DE 0-0-0-2 I would like to thank the master DE's that are charging more. Grinding through the first 2 boxes of blueprints were mind numbing enough, its good to see that I sold some of them because you master and higher de's were considerate of us lower de's. I will definately do the same thing from now on too just to help those with no blueprint skills. Not to change the subject, I know that most if not all DE's are frusterated with this non-working profession (I got pissed every time I saw a guy soloing the old endor 22k missions) and I stand there for 3 hours trying to find a group in a city with about 50 people in it. But hey, I guess what I'm trying to say is this:
1. yes DE's are broke, but hey I think they are still fun to build
2.I agree with the nerf on mission prices, now all those people who became master CH just for the money are all screwed lol
3.Don't worry our day will come, and you will be able to sell hundreds of droids then!!! (I just hope to become master DE by then)
thanks for reading my rant...

Refusing to build MSE's or charging high prices is an implicit way of helping Novice DE's.
If a newbie does ask for an MSE, just give your price (1k, 5k, etc.) and then tell him to lookfor MSE deeds at the bazaar, as they're bound to find one for a few hundred credits. If it's a reasonable player, he'll thank you for the advice and might even remember you for future droid needs.
BTW I don't make MSE, R5, treadwell, and seeker droids unless someone comes up to me in the middle of nowhere and requests one. I leave those for the novice DE's who are grinding away and just want to make some money. I also offer free training for DEs on my galactic server Naritus.
