I've been saying a lot of goodbyes as of late, watching friends and players I respected walk off into the sunset. It's possible that it may now be my time...
Tho I'm not a fan of the CU, my reasons for possibly leaving are not because of that. I just can't afford it at this point. I've been out of work since February, and paying for both this and City of Heroes (which I rarely log onto COH anymore) w/o income has finally caught up to me.So I cancelled both accounts today.
I hope to be able to reactivate before my subscription expires. I should hopefully be getting a new job here either next week or hopefully soon after. But, if things don't work out as expected (I was supposed to have been hired for another job over a month ago...), I simply put can't afford it anymore, and what little money I do have left has to be put towards more important things than an online game. So, I currently have until June 1st before my account runs out. I honestly fully expect to be able to reactivate my account and not have to say a final goodbye, but again, the future isn't always known, and I just wanted to give a warning ahead of time in case things don't work out.
In my time on this forum, I've asked the dumbest of the n00b questions, and debated over the most important subjects our profession has had to face, and no matter how many CU's and busted probots they throw at us, I will always be a Droid Engineer at heart. I got into it for the wrong reasons, but fell in love with it for the right reasons, and my time on this forum has helped me to become even more attatched to this profession, so again, should things not work out, and worst comes to worst, I just want to express my respect and appreciation for the community that we have here...
Straker, Drashk, TheRealTK, Jenden, everyone, thank you for all of the informative debates, and thank you for making this the most welcoming community I have had the pleasure of experiencing here in Star Wars Galaxies. Tus, my in game "mentor", I don't think you're even on the forums anymore, but thank you for all of the in game guidance you gave me on the long path of the Droid Engineer.
If I must say goodbye, then I /salute you all. If things end up going alright, and I get to stay beyond June 1st, then just consider this an expression of my gratitude for all the help that everyone has provided me over the months - year+ that I've been on the forums. I wouldn't be the Droid Engineer I am today without you guys.

I hope to see you again in the future Nell. You've made a valuable member of not only this community, but also the Creature Handler community as well. (Don't let anyone know, but I've been a CH forum lurker for a while now and plan on /respec my main combat toon on TC to CH)
Even if you can't come back to the game right away, as planned, I can tell you from experience that taking a few months off can be very rewarding, since the game is constantly evolving. In the past, I have found coming back to the game to be very rewarding, after an extended leave of absents. Though you may come back to some of the same bugs and issues, there are many other little tid bits that will be added here and there, that make this one of the best MMORPGs on the market, even with its faults.
I don't believe in goodbyes, so instead how about we just say that we will see you later, at some other place and time?

Dang Nell, you and I went head to head over a lot of issues, but it was always in a good debate and friendly matter.
Hopefully you come back soon man, you are a true asset to the community and friend.

Well I still got till June 1st to see if things get straight (which is why I have the "?" in the title), and if not, I'll still be around till then.
But yes, all of our arguements were in good, fun, respecful debates. Definatley no hard feelings at all, nothing but respect.

Well the good news is is that I did get the job I expected to get.
The bad news is, I still dunno if I'm coming back. The CU just isn't for me. I've been getting back into City of Heroes, so I just might go back to that. I haven't even logged into SWG in like a week.
I'll see if I can give it a shot again, but I dunno. The devs have decided to turn this into a game that I don't want it to be.
