Thread: Stim Pak Dispensor

Does anyone know if any player can now use a droid with a Stimpak Dispensor? If so, I am going to start a line of droids with one installed. Since we can all use stim paks now...it would make sense...but it also makes sense that a 200 foot, 60 ton Krayt dragon would have no problem with a two player group....and we know how that is.

Any help from my peers in DE'ing would be appreciated.

well, would you not agree that needs to be changed? If I can use a stimpak on myself...why does my droid need a medic type person to fill it. Not besides the fact that I cant have a medic type fill my droid for me.

This needs looked into. JENDEN..ARE YOU READING THIS BROTHER!?!!?

These droids do work now.

They have always needed to be loaded by a Medic, even before when anybody can use them.

They still need to be loaded by somebody with 0040 Medic I believe. I don't think there is anything wrong with this, Docs got hit pretty hard by the CU, nothing wrong with people having a reason to look for them.

And correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe a well-built stimpack droid can deliver stims faster than a person can.

Do you know if they are still limited to stim-a's?

It is still limited to Stim As.

6 max rated module, in an Adv R3, would appear to deliver 1 Stim per 1 second. The tenative formula for the Stim delivery rating is {60 - (Rating + 1)}seconds. But the same 1 second minimum should still be in place, as per the pre-CU version.

The module requires xx4x Medic, in order to be loaded, which is one of the Doctor pre-reqs, so any Doc can load them for you.

The post CU version of the Stim Dispenser module is actually more effective then the pre-CU version, since Stim As can hit for twice the healing power as they used to.

A well organized group, all running a Stim Macro, could benefit greatly from a Stim Dispensor droid, as well as the Solo Hunter. If advertised correctly, the Stim Dispensor droids could very well replace the sales that Medical Module droids once had. Its all about the information spin, and educating the target users though.

Has anyone else tried to use one of these post-CU? I was trying mine yesterday and I'm afraid the reuse timer has changed. I didn't get a chance to do extensive testing on it but itlooked like it might be the same 60 sec timer the stims themselves have.

I was using a droid that was loaded pre-CU. The stim As in it converted from 99 power to 98 power. I know the droid wasn't the fastest possible since it's a split combat/stim droid but I know it was healing me much faster pre-CU than it is now.

I respecced my alt who's a master doc to BE to play around with the meds and so far I've got a Stim A up to a 215 strength. Not sure if that'll make them anymore useful or not if the timing goes back to what it was.

Definitely more testing needed, just wanted to give a heads-up so maybe some others can look at it when they get a chance.

I just tried out a 55 rated droid and was royally disappointed to see that it was only delivering 1 stim every 30 seconds. It would appear that the delivery code was changed, again.

Unfortunately, I'm out of Stim As, on TC, which makes it rather difficult to test out other rated droids.

Tomorrow, I can try and respec Drakalous one more time, to see if I can make some Stims and load them up into a new droid, to see if there is a timing difference with different rated droids.

Well the thing is that a person could use a Stim themselves, then have the droid heal on top of that. So basically doubling what a person can do.

HOWEVER.. With them being stuck to lame Stim As that nobody over level 15 will use, they definitly need to be fast to be of use.

This is really really bad, the devs might have made a mistake in the fomula.

I just crafted a 57 rated R3, filled it, grouped it and attacked some humbadas with a 0.3 seconds /requestStimpack looping macro. This is the result :

1/ It gives 1 heal every 30 seconds (just as my 33 rated R3), so no need to experiment the modules much. Maybe Jenden's formula is right, but there's a cap on 30 seconds.

2/ The animation got a problem : same as when we use a stimpack on ourself

3/ I didn't do much tests, but it looks like it's taking a round in the combat queue. Since we lost the combat list window, i can't tell exactly.

Please Jenden have a look about it with the devs. 210 or 220 health every 30 seconds, how can we sell this droid 80k to doctors or combat medics, and even medics (need XX4X medic to fill it).

Yet another useless droid :'(

One further n00b question, since a person with 0.0.4.0 medic needs to load the stims, can they load the stims into a droid they do not own? For example: my combat character owns the stimpack droid, can I go to a Doc and have him insert the stims without trading him the droid? If I can do I simply have to /consent him to do it?

Thanks in advance...
