Thread: Respect to Droid Engineers
Thanks for the props. DE can be tough at first, but I've learned that in those down times (like now!), unless your lots are being used to pull up some good resources, use the factory time to create all of the subcomponents. I've been doing that to make close to 2K R3 Chassis. Same goes for modules. Don't know if you are aware, but here's the things that require quality components:
Detonation Module; Harvester Module, Combat Module, final chassis deeds (higher quality results in higher hit points/HAM)
As far as your storage module, Ahazi has some really nice resources available to make high quality storage modules. Eceulan, is obviously uber, but also Lehie, Oacaov, Weakem, Tedoaloore, Etashoate are all good to experiment beyond 95%. If these are for droids, don't bother with quality. If these are for personal crafting stations, then go with Eceulan. If you have respec'd out of DE, it may be worth it to respec back to DE and create you a couple of schematics before you respec back.

After having repeced to a droid engineer the other day I have come to one or two conclusions.
Firstly , noone outside the D.E. community has the slightest idea how hard and complicated this prof is and secondly
,you guys dont charge nearly enough for your droids.
I decided to try out D.E. because l like crafting and it seemed like and interesting prof . After 4 hours hard work which resulted
in the outcome of a single ,poor quality , combat droid which was a nightmare to craft i find myself waiting patiently for the next time i can respec.
I'd like to say hats off to u guys and keep up the good work .........
P.S. I almost forgot ,is there anyD.E. on the ahazi server that can make me crates of droid storage compartements at 95% quality or higher?

Thx for the kind words. DE really isn't something most people do for money, it's really more for fun. It can be very labor intensive, which I am sure you have just seen.
I think a lot of people may come to the same conclusion you did, we may get soem more respect! ![]()

However, we could never get away with charging more for one simple reason: the return on the investment isn't justified. Why? Droids simply don't do enough...
Yep, very good point. If the product is indispensable, then it drives up prices. But right now, most droids are "nice to haves".

I have been a master DE since JTL went live. My original intent was to provide pilots with a "one-stop shop" for their needs. I absolutely agree with your assessment of the complexity of crafting a droid. However, we could never get away with charging more for one simple reason: the return on the investment isn't justified. Why? Droids simply don't do enough. Take for example the survey droid. These things take 45 minutes to do a survey, one survey a single planet, and only tells you what resources are currently available on the planet--and on top of that, you have give it the survey tool to use for the survey. Thus, if you want a snapshot of all the resources on the planet, you end up wasting 3 or 4 droids and the survey tools, and you still don't have to survey for a point of high percentage when you go there. Useless.
