The trick is you have to figure out how to have certain conditions in place. Primarily, Item/Data storage. You have to have some kind of check to make sure you don't have more than 5 droids with item/data storage in them.

i dont see the problem with a de having the ability to carry moreitemsthan another class if he chooses to have only storage droids and the number of droids he could carry were increased. as it is now anyone with a storage droid already has that ability. i mean each class has its perks and sincewe cannot redeed our droids we get stuck with all theolder droids unless we hand them out. the only advantage we have over another class in using droids is that we can color them better, at least i think we get more color options from kits we use.

other than that i can think of no bonus a de gets from his knowledgeof handling droids, something he does everyday. he gets no xp from repairing them, none from removing the wounds, they could at least allow for him to call them in combat but he doesnt have that neither. he has nothing special.

You know, as much as I'd love to be able to store more than 5 droids, and call more than 1 droid, Jenden brings up a real good point about the other crafting professions. Unfortunatley, it's almost enough to make me think that we shouldn't get extra droid storage or calls.

Although I'm still not against -everyone- getting to call 2 droids.

Tho Droid Engineer is my main profession, I was a Entertainer / Musician first, so I like to hang around in the cantinas while I craft. And I'd love to be able to have Fusion-III, my WED droid crafting droid out so that I could craft, and also have Speakerboxx, my R5 entertainer effects droid so that I could have some extra effects going while I am crafting.

If this is the case then we need to do it in a widespread revamp of the crafting professions, because none of the other professions get benefits to using their items. Architects don't get more lots, weaponsmiths don't get bonuses to using their weapons, armorsmiths don't get reduced incumberance, BE's don't get to store more creatures, chefs don't get a bigger stomach, etc...

And as far as having a little extra storage not being that big of a deal, even 10 more items is huge. I know a lot of people that regularly have full inventories and backpacks, every little bit makes a huge difference.

Jenden, I agree with your ponit of view in the fact that we shouldn't be able to call more Droids, that wouldnt be fair.

However, I don't think being able to have a couple more Droids in the datapad is nearly as unfair.

Let's say that we got 3 extra Droid slots. That would mean 30 more Item Storage, plus 450 more Data Storage.

The data Storage is a non-issue, if you already used up 750 Data Storage (from your other droids) plus your Data Pad, something is wrong. I doubt very many people have ever filled up 1 Data Droid.

Now the 30 Item Storage is an issue. However, time and time again, DE's have complained that our "Loot Exp/ assembly Item" doesn't allow us to wear a backpack. This is a 100% legitimate gripe, to the best of my knowledge, no other profession has this issue. Then look at another complaint that DE's have, how many crates of sub-componants we have to deal with. These 2 lead to some serious storage issues.

It seems to me that if they let us have 3 more Droids, giving us 30 more storage (if we wanted,) then it would actually fix our Toolbelt and Sub-componantcomplaints along with our problem ofnot being able to own enough of our product.

So basically, it would fix 3 problems at once.

Ok here is what must be done!!! Droid engineers should be able to have more droids out at once simialr to Creature Handler that would be good. And we should also get the abillity to to store at least 1 or 2 more droids. Beacuase you see are not creature handlers able to hold more pets thaen others? So would this not be fair?

(Oh and err i have been trying to make a power droid but i cant find the power core thing what level do i need to make that part?)

The problem is that we are not Creature Handlers, we are crafters. Creature Handlers cannot mak creatures at all, they have no real sales market. They are more of a combat class.

Power Cores are an Architect item, you need to get them from them.

you are thinking one-sided but if what i hear is correct, WS and AS do have a slightly higher chance of success at repairing. however that isnt the point. the DE lacks much of the identity the others have. what does the othershave? wellthey get the bonus of makinganything the artisan makes better thanhim.for example,an armorsmith can build better bone armor than just the artisan. this simulatesthe armorsmiths improved knowledge of armor over anyone else. since the artisan cannot build any droid parts, itbegins and ends with us. the CH, he can petcreatures that would bite us, simulating his improved knowledge. other classes have things like special schematics that require a specific understanding of their art, forexample the av-21. again that simulates and creates the attachment one must have with their specific art. thentheres even are abilities that go along perfectly at class specific knowledge simulation, for examplefirstaid ability.

the doc can build adv medicines, has ways of dealing with poison, and a list of other things that go with his improved knowledge in his field. we build droids and the list ends there. it wouldnt be as bad if making droids were more involved.a x/x/x/4 DE could pretty much build any droid he wants with the exception of a few deeds. have someone else build the modules and toss em together like legos. the only thing he hurts himself on is HAM, which probably wont matter in the firstplace.it shouldnt be like that.

im still not afraid of *some* ppl being able to carry more items than others. again isnt this how it is right now? some ppl are able to carry more, regardless of the reason. also carrying those items would still be at a cost of skill points and no different than whatppl do now with merchant vendors.
